I mean my advantage is i have an external keyboard, so the thing with the accidental touchpad press cant happen to me ... but still i dont understand why the developer of the game thinks you need a mouse for fireing a weapon. couldn't you use ... space, or enter, or control, or something?

As for walking with arrow keys, tbh, devs should just adopt a s d and w, and have the right hand area for other stuff. Already feels much more plezent.

Keyboard support got added to Ambush. RIght control to fire, arrows for aiming left, right, up and down, respectively.
Enjoy!

Message of the Day: Attention, dear players!
The day has finally come. Keyboard support is now available in Ambush. We have worked to make your gaming experience more accessible, responsive, and enjoyable.
You can now use your keyboard to aim in Ambush. Use Left and Right Arrows to aim horizontally, and Up and Down Arrows to aim vertically. To fire, either press or hold down the Right Control key.
All keyboard support settings are available in the Options menu, where you can configure keyboard sensitivity to suit your preferences. Additionally, for players using a joystick, the screen reader will now announce your camera orientation and facing direction as you turn.
We value your feedbacks and listen closely to your suggestions. That is why we have implemented keyboard support to provide a smoother and more accessible Ambush experience.
Thank you for being a part of Ambush!

By playing this open beta and continuing to participate in the game thereafter, you agree to all the conditions stated in the Rules, Terms, and Conditions. Any violations of these conditions are subject to the sanctions outlined in the document.
*For the duration of the public beta, all private beta members are restricted from public ranked matches. This is to ensure newer players have a fair opportunity to learn the game properly.
*We are actively developing Syndicate Wars for our official launch. To ensure you have a stable experience during the beta, this mode is currently restricted while it undergoes further testing.

*Although Competitive and Arms Race matches normally consist of 5v5 gameplay, we are temporarily reducing the format to 2v2 to help new players adjust to the game. Please note that this is only a temporary change.

We recommend you to read the modes section from contact and support > documentation > readme to get more information about modes.

To be honest, playing such games on a controller is absurd to me, but when someone like so masochism, why not.

#68

Hi everyone, I have downloaded the game. I have the following question: after creating an account, what should I start with?

#70

I went into training mode, but I don't know what to do next.

Spin around in your chair 3 times and sing chesy michael. Then press the numbers 6 and 7 on your keyboard, and you will be flooded with the magical knowledge to play given by the one and only ghost of the ReadMe files.

a good mode to start with is death match. It lets you play against players and bots. Your goal is to get as many kills as possible until a spesific number of kills is achieved. This mode lets you try your aiming skills, which you need for competetieve. Competetieve is the most fun mode in my opinion since it's very uniec from what we've seen in other games. If you need help with it's rules. Ask in chat or read the documentation. From my experience are the devs and beta tester verry helpfull.

#75

Yes, first DM, after that exploration of competitive maps in training mode > f7 > visit maps / travelpoints in left upper corner of the competitive lobby map, and finally competitives or private matches with 3 / 3, 4 / 4, 5 / 5 modes etc.

#76

So I'm only now just getting started with this, but so far I love it. Even just killing the bots in training mode is a lot of fun, though they do tend to get me way more than I get them most of the time.

They're smarter than us.

#79

There are no bots in training mode. Those are all regular players.
Vox tech, trust us.

That's not strictly true. There's an area outside of the spawn area where you can indeed fight bots. I've been doing that rather a lot. I think it's the weapons testing area or something like that.
