Hell knows, but if it was leaked as he says, I wouldn't associate the project to a grown up adult.

Wait Karmien coded this with some random kids on TT, oh wow I wouldn't have expected that.

Χωρίς να το θέλεις, θα σκέφτεσαι εμένα
Και θα νιώθεις μεγάλο κενό

aniways back on the topic guys, I noticed that most the helpfiles in the help menu say that it doesn't connect, because I think it still is pulling from the old site, so then karmien will have to create a readme and other things for it.

You expect attention seeking individuals, the former of which clearly needs a professional psychical help intervention, to be capable of this? Dream on.

I mean if they could hack accounts on elten and leak IP's then they could probably do something similar maybe

I don't think you know what getting the source code involves. Spoiler alert, it's not guessing a password that's 1234 or bragging with the IP being visible on TT. Unlike others, most sane programmers know what security means - after all their own programs need to be secure. Also, such people first would need to guess code platform, username/email, two factor auth code, etc.

Sorry to drop this in now and this might also give me the community ban forever, but didn't there exist a topic in the old Elten English Community tech forum where the zip file of the klango with some decompilation guide was posted with the text to make it going agin? I won't give the name of who posted this, but I guess we all know what I mean.
Check out my projects: https://jokyboy129.github.io/

oh, you mean the klango desourcer thing? I think I might have it, but I don't know how they did it, so probably how they got the sourcecode

At least in Poland it is absolutely permitted to reverse-engineer, decompile etc. By reverse-engineering KRCP (Klango protocol) I created Klango Archive.
But making your own software using stolen source? It is absolutely different thing.

To be honest I see no point in repeating him all the legal issues with all of this. Sue him. From that he'll understand.

The fact that you so desperately want to get me sued about an app that you didn't even use in it's oreginal is, well, interesting to say the least. To say it in your words, maybe you are spending to much time on the internet if something like this bothers you this much. Go outside.

this is why I've resorted to using the clone more, less drama. Here theres always drama. Nough said.

@70 but the Klango clone was also done using reverse-engineering, wasn't it? No accusations here, I just don't understand the difference. Or is it the name and stuff that makes it a theft?

Also I never thought I'd defend Elten anytime in terms of speed, but then I saw this new Klango... It's insane how slowly it reacts to anything and how clunky and slow it is to even read a topic on the forum. I'm sorry and I retract everything that I said about Elten.

O, so you also downloaded klango? I thought it was such a bad peace of software.

alright guys, here is a reference before you go absolutely berserk on anyone using this version. Remember MSN Messenger? It was under escargot, but they didn't ad new features to windows live, they just updated them, but we'll probably gonna have to figure out what we're gonna do about Klango and how it's gonna work in the case of it's revival since it's a recreation with modern features I believe. Speaking of, there was also how we got AOL, a bit off topic, but the first time I got it I made the mistake of installing AIM8 which is an inaccessible POS and the freakin uninstaller was broken as all hell. SO yeah, I don't know what we're gonna have to do about klango since this version is technically unofficial.

@71 do you have the money necessary to sue Simter?
All that I survey, I could easily destroy. From time to time, it is important to remind these small creatures of the true extent of my power.

#80

@71 So every time I look into this topic, it gets more and more absurd.
If anyone actually wants to take legal action against him for this project, it would be either: 1. Simplito, the developer of Klango, due to copyright complaints regarding the source code, or 2. Users whose contributions were in the Klango archive and are now freely accessible again in an ongoing project.
I’m no expert in this area, but this would definitely be a real data protection issue if you go by the GDPR. The operator can’t even demonstrate a legitimate interest here, since the platform was closed after the forum posts had already been made and has now been reopened.
However, the one who almost certainly cannot assert any legal claims or interests is you. You didn’t even use the old Klango, and as far as I know, you weren’t involved in the development in any way.
Quite apart from that, why would you actually want someone to be sued? You have absolutely nothing to gain from it.
