MacOS: Yes or no?

There's been this discussion reviving in the german comunity, and now I would like to hear it from a bigger circle.
Would you be interested in a Mac, why or why not?
What even are the use cases other than music that isn't as optimised on windows.
Have you used a mac before and, in that state, how did you think the experience with voiceover was?

I brievly used an ancient Mac, but that was when I was very young and already by then the OS was super outdated and I couldn't really get along with the navigation (I guess though it was more of an understanding issue). I guess it would be interesting to give it a go for music- and audio-editing and producing, however I can't see myself using it as a main driver, since a lot of apps and games I play/use probably either aren't available or different over there. Even if not, the switch probably would take a while and if I would switch my OS I probably wuld prefer "the third option" LOL. Also, I don't really want to enforce myself to be in the Apple ecosystem, since I'm in the Android one. I like to be more free in my purchases, at least regarding computers.

Basically what has been said. I can imagine it as a music computer, if I find myself to produce something serious enough to feel like it would actually enhance my productivity and there's some nice Mac which doesn't cost like thousands I might get one for purely music. Looking at how much it cluttered my main PC to install all the music drivers and libs on here I think it would actually be quite useful too, and man core audio must be nice. Otherwise, I don't know. I've heard web browsing isn't very good with them, and generally I feel like apple actually needs to get their ass up remaking/properly fixing voice over rather than just resting on their "we're accessible" image. Like yeah they are for sure, but they could be better. Anyway I think at this point it's really just personal preference, nothing more. Both works fine, and yup as Rudolf mentioned. It would not be my main simply for availability of programs and depending on apple/the eco system.

I'll probably buy a Mac one day just because I love the Apple ecosystem, however, I will only use it to produce music and just mess around. The only time I would suggest a Mac is if you have a lot of spare money and want to try something new, otherwise stick to Windows, if you are a bit of a freak use Linux, I don't judge, I could never though.

I've learned mac and if you know how to use windows, it won't be easy to use mac after a day, or 2.

I personally prefer using Windows than a Mac, because I've been using Windows since most of my life. The mac OS is OK, I have no problem using voice over And I used to play with garage Band.

I love MacOS. I use it for coding, testing, gaming and more.

How can you use it for gaming. You can only play rs games, beatstar, maybe a couple iPhone apps, it's not much.

there are some games like a blind legend that were for both windows and macOS, but very few exist. especially for the iphone. That's why most of the audiogames we know were developed for windows.

Name one example? A lot of the Mods work on Mac as well. Some games are Windows only, but I couldn't think of any atm.

Yeah, but it's not like it would be impossible these days. While we don't have a lot of them yet also NVGT games can compile for Mac now, you have muds, Minecraft, afaik Rhythmdoctor, etc.

Sadly noone really compiles those nvgt games for mac yet though, plus sam mentioned a few critical bugs in stream.

Lol bro, there is literally a Minecraft access mod with proper page, bundles which already include other helpful mods etc. mcaccess.org...

Interesting thread, I have been enjoying reading it. I have been a Mac user since June 2010 and I honestly prefer it. It's definitely not perfect, but I find overall, VoiceOver is a reliable screen reader and I am able to get everything I need to done with it. Some of it could be that I've been using it for so long now, I'm just used to it and it's quirks. Also being an iPhone user, I love how everything is synchronized. All of my iMessages are on both my computer and phone and I can very quickly and easily respond to them. And of course, there's also the ability to hand off things. I could start an email on my iPhone and finish it on my mac.
There is just a lot of convenience to it, and I find it helps me be productive. Is it perfect? Definitely not. But give me the choice of using my PC or my mac, I will pick the mac every time.
