I don't know if I believe fully the project was leaked as described. That only appears to have been an argument when Pajper brought up the potential legam ramifications. Looking at his posts on the forum and so on, it seems like this was something planned for and in the works for a while.
Oh there's also that post Jonathan made where he indicated that emails were sent out indicating that the project would be opened up.
Honestly that's the part that's most bothersome to me. The apparent dishonesty is sickening.

I said from the beginning that it was not mend to be public, on all platforms that this was advertised on. The mail from jonathan is cut out of context and even the part that he is showing only sais "the registration password was removed, tell your friends.". At least for my definition, tell your friends doesn't mean post it publically on masto and agnet and elten and so on.

Yes, you leaked my non public klango email and a private mail which was only send to about 15 people. This I considered extremely uncool since i considered you a friend or at least trustworthy, and i was in a train and could barely respond, so i called you up.

I personally don't connect anything with this platform, so I don't mind really, I totaly get why you're doing this, but the way it's done is, confusing to say the least. The only intention on my side was to state that, in my eyes, this was not a leak. And this has nothing to do with friendship, exposing, or whatsoever. I can state that opinion regardless. It's not even against your person or anything.

If Simplito decides to take legal action against Karmien, it will do so. That does not depend on any of us, but simply on whether the company chooses to pursue the matter.
If Karmien fails to comply with the GDPR, someone may well take legal action against him. I think that formal pre-action notices and actual legal steps are more important than a discussion spanning hundreds of posts.
If this unlawful project makes use of ideas originating from Elten, whether in the form of code, protocols, or inspirations falling within the scope of the licence, the appropriate formal notice will be issued by me and the Prowadnica Foundation.
And that should bring the matter to a close.

At jonathan it's not about one sentences or it beeing "not that deep", it's about that for my view you don't backstab your friends like this, especially when you admit your self that you know nothing about the matter. But hey, maybe I am old fashioned.

I cannot agree. You forget about a really suspicious data proceeding and protection procedure right there. It is another issue to discuss and it is all about legality/illegality.

False. You didn't mention that it was leaked until post 51 in this thread, and I don't think you've mentioned it at all on the audiogames.net thread.

I'd like to see the full context of the E-Mail, but I can't see how "Tell your friends" can be interpreted as anything other than to..Tell your friends and share the good news. If you had ment people who were a part of the beta, then you would have said so, no?

I dvise you reread the ag.net thread and maybe also my mastodon history, with a lot of the very wild bugs i said that they are there because it was never mend to be public. Not the same wording but the same meaning. But in general, it's not at all important to the matter what you think. Prove that it was done on purpose then come back.

If the problem were simply that the project had leaked unintentionally, the server would have been shut down immediately, moved to a different URL (ideally one requiring a password) and the new client shared with only a handful of friends.
Continuing development, opening it up, and publicly debugging issues, regardless of everything else, strongly suggests that the aim either was, or has now become, to make an illegal project publicly available.

You might want to reread my post in the pollish forum about it, that what you just said already has been adressed there.

For me, no matter was it to be public or not. For Karmien it is even worse if it was not to be published, because it means he is not able to save his projects enough not to leak somehow.
Nevertheless, KlangoClone became public. With all its weak points - illegal code, copyright, name, unsure data protection etc.
If you had decided not to delete it, which is really dangerous mainly for you and says something about your etics/morality towards other's work, you should have rather deleted all this old users data and make any potential user register once again, leaving only the archive (which you took without asking pajper, but never mind) as a nostalgic easteregg.

As said before, and now one last time, I don't feel particularely good about shuuting down a product that when i realized it was publisiced already had about 30 users who were displaying their liking for it. Now it are 250. But I won't waste my time with these bad faith points no longer.
