Hello. Where is any contact for someone to whom I can write that something in Klango does not work or write him any suggestions what should be fixed, added or improved in Klango?
I have suggestions:
1. Hiding Klango on the system tray when we are not using it, as with Elten. The option to hide could be in the dialog offering to end Klango, and there could also be a keyboard shortcut for that.
2. Setting custom keyboard shortcuts for different functions.
3. Adding radio sort by countryes.4. Add your own podcasts.
4. Adding your own podcasts.
5. More podcasts in the catalog, possibly a category of podcasts in the catalog, there are German podcasts now.
These are all the suggestions now that came to my mind.
And you can't get into the database of accessible programs.

Below I am providing a translation of my post in the Polish community forum. As the Prowadnica Foundation operates in Poland, our position naturally concerns first and foremost our own country, but I would like to share it here for informational purposes.

I had not intended to comment on this matter, but as I have been receiving many, many private messages, the subject keeps appearing in people's feeds and is attracting a great attention in overal, I feel I should address it.

A few days ago, Karmien published his own cloned version of Klango, labelled 3.5.4 and hosted on his own server.

In the last days of Klango, there was, to put it mildly, a dispute between Simplito and me, which I discussed here in the forums at the time. I never supported either their policy towards the project in its final versions or their approach to the community for which, in my point of view, they were responsible.

Today, I am nearly ten years older. I have had the opportunity to experience both the positive and negative sides of the blind community, as well as the realities of running a project of this kind, and I now understand the motivations and difficulties faced by that company much better. Yes, I still disagree with many of their actions, but I certainly have far more sympathy for their perspective, far greater respect for the stance they took, particularly in the early days, and I make a much greater effort to understand and accept the decisions they made.

One of those decisions was to keep the source code closed. Elten, as you know, is open-source software, whereas Klango was proprietary software. A situation in which AI is used to steal someone else's code, add new features to it and then publish it as one's own is, quite simply, a criminal act: the theft of source code and an copyright infringement.

In addition, importing the Klango archives - which, by the way, were created by me - and reusing them as part of a living community constitutes a second crime, this time in relation to the GDPR. The right to archive data is one thing, and it is a fundamental right, but processing that data again without the consent of either its former administrator or the users whose data is being processed is an entirely different matter.

A third issue, perhaps the least serious but still important, is the use of the same project name, proprietary logos and other elements which could suggest, and potentially mislead people into believing, that this clone is an official release.

I realise that this message may sound firm, but having been asked so many times what I think about this project, I wanted to cover it publicly. I am not going to enter into a discussion here about whether Klango still makes sense today, how it differs from Elten, whether it could serve as a reasonable alternative, and so on. I only wanted to set out my position on the legal and ethical aspects of the matter.

Thus, in response to the many questions I have received: no, I shall not attempt to integrate Elten with this project. I shall also regard any use of Elten code within it as a breach of Elten's licence. Elten is released under the GNU General Public License v3, and any project or service in which my code (and code of other contributors) is used must comply with the terms of GPL. And I shall certainly defend my own rights, just as Simplito has every right to defend theirs.

I responded to the post in the pollish thread also. I didn't paste it here as well though since practically everything that i pointed out there i already pointed out here in this topic.
Just a small clarification as it's important. No, i didn't publish klango. It was ran on a private server and it leaked. Now though that so many people are using it and like it and are happy it's back, i feel kind of bad shutting it down again.

I dunno lol, I don't know what Karmien is gonna do but I'm actually starting to like this Klango thing even though it has bugs and querks that still need to be fixed.

Lol no. I didn't code this with random 10 year olds, that's just arctics favourite stigma or one of them. It makes evn less sense as the source code was not actually leaked but only the release version was. And fun fact, all the people that had it were adults.
Regarding that you don't usually wish bad things on people and all that, i won't comment o that, your post and the way it's written does enough to show how well meaning you always are, it's just another arctic post, nothing new at all.
