So I thought this may be a really interesting topic because I want to see if there are other people like me. I think that some alarms and Call cannot be completed. messages are kind of scary. Today at school I went through a lockdown drill and their lockdown alarm was very scary in my opinion. It was kind of like a low-pitched buzzing noise with a synthetic voice after that saying "lockdown, lockdown, etc." I don't know why I'm scared of these particular sorts of sounds, but I just want to find out if other people are

buzzing, like flies or anything, emergency alarm sounds, and that's just off the top of my head.

I get you on the emergency alarm sounds. Those can be really scary, depending on the alarm.

i have a lot of sound fears, i have sleep paralysis and my brain does this stupid thing where it warps a bunch of sounds together and swirls it around me and i can't move naturally and it's freaking terrifying

Interesting. I still have a 2% vision rest, and if I had sleep paralysis it was mostly still somewhat vision based. Or at least I can't remember any sounds.

I suppose any sudden, loud sound startles me. I think I'd be a bit scared of the alarm sounds described in the first post.

Some sounds that scare me a lot are the Microsoft Teams ringtone and message sound, as well as the Outlook new E-Mail sound. Always makes me think of work and I want to hide :(

i'm not sure why mine is sound based, but it's annoying and it hurts especially when my brain makes up sounds i've never heard before and blasts it in my face or my aunts voice just randomly appearing that's why i wake up super early because sleeping isn't as relaxing without my medicine

Idk if this is a general discussion topic instead, but hey.
I remember at least as a child I used to be really scared of anything sudden starting with sh. Whether someone said it, or just a word starting with those 2 letters. This particular sound used to be quite scary to me, more so from evening onwards.
Now there's not a whole lot exactly, but I'm much more able to be scared with something when there's full silence and it's dark outside, AKA, middle of the night. Yup with light perseption that has a say.

I just remembered a song, These Boots Are Made for Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra. At the end of it, when she says start walkin' and the brass does that little riff, that used to scare the pants off me when I was young. I don't remember how old I was when that song came out, but I remember how much that riff scared me!

Sounds silly perhaps, but I really can't stand anything that's buzzing. Flies, mosquitos, you name it.

You aren't alone. There are certain insects that give me the creeps too!

Man insects used to terify me. Well some of them still do, but fortunately we don't have to worry about anything worse than like wasps or something. I remember having to mute my sound when I was a little kid playing HVR because the mosquito robots would just terify me out of my mind.

They don't scare me necessarily but any time I hear beeps or alarms I don't know what they are for I immediately tense up.

I think the reason why I have a terrifying thing with like buzzing is because my birth mother and I both have like a space stinger allergy and my mom was an idiot and lived by a hive so she'd get them in the house all the time. That's what my mom like used to like live in housing before she got messed up even more than she already was. My mom lived by a beehive and it was like in her bathroom wall or something. I don't know what happened. She took forever to get someone to cough but she kept killing them but she killed them in the air so the last thing you hear is their buzzing like died down as they were like falling and that was creepy. So it's more of I'm scared that it's something that's going to sting me or is going to drop dead in a second. My mom was a freaking crazy person so that's why I like freaked out earlier today when Kara kept telling me oh my god there's a fly like right next to your ear like oh my god it's going to eat me and she kept saying oh my god she's attacking me so yeah that's why I have a crazy and of course my sleep paralysis demon like whatever it is. Um puts buzzing sounds in my head whenever I'm having a paralysis episode and it's like oh my god I want to get out like get me out of here so that's my reasoning for hating buzzing.

Yep, I feel the buzzing shit.
I'm allergic to wasps, and whenever I hear any sort of low buzzing, I freeze, scared to move at all. My mussles tence, I strain my whole body, and I just lean back in the way my chest is pointing forwards.
I don't know if that's a defense automatism I have, but it always happens.
It happens when someone even so much as walks by behind me, but that's a different story.
