Apple's Personal Voice: Your experience and a question on top

As stated in the title, this is to start a little discussion about apples personal voice feature on Mac and iOS, making you be able to clone up to 3 voices and using them for things, including voiceover since last year.
What's your opinion about it. Have you ever done it, if so, have you maybe asked others to clone their voices for you or would/do you actually use your own voice for it?
As for my question: I heard that via Mac, you could somehow manipulate some folder and replace the audio files I think, which could in theory make you clone any voice you want as long as you can get audio files with the sentances it wants. Does anyone know how to do this exactly or have instructions

i can't casue my iPad is too old according to apple lol, it's an iPad 9, i can do a simular thing on my Samsung S23+ using my voice for bixpy, i tried that and it sounds sorta like me, i mainly use gemini though so it's not that usful

Yeah I don't think you can use it for talkback anyway. I was gonna try it but thought that was the outcome, yeah.

I tryed it on my phone. it made me sound like a robot. I have no expression in my voice

My younger got his wife's voice and she sounds a lot like herself, but maybe with slightly less expression. I can't say she sounds robotic. She's from a small town in Texas and it almost made her sound even more southern than she is, lol.

I also sounded like a robot too, heck the thing even can't pronounce I in some cases so it either whispers it or just skips saying it at all. And since I don't have a hi-tech iPhone 17 pro max or any other iPhone with apple intelagence I can't really know if they fixed it with the expressions or not.

I did it, and it surprisingly got my accent and speaking pattern on point.

Which is quite cool because the language states english US, not just english. Which is a bit misleading.

I guess it does try using American pronunciation more, but yeah overall it gets the accent on point. I wonder what it woulddo if a properly British person attempted?

My friend talks british, and it did it 100% on point there too.

I tried it on my 15 Pro. With iOS 17 it made me sound like a robot in a box which didn't change with iOS 18. Then, with iOS 26 where you only had to record 10 sentences instead of 150, it created something that at least sounds a bit like me, but not really. It sounds like me talking without any expression and sometimes even a bit as I would do whispering.

Might really depend on the voice or how you talk, the distance to the mic, but most importantly, actually the volume.
