So VeTube is an app that can read livestream chats on youtube. Yes it's possible... Because as we all know there are some, if not all blind users on youtube that manually read it. It also intigrates with tiktok/twitch but I haven't tested that out since I don't really use those apps yet. You can get VeTube from https://github.com/metalalchemist/VeTube

do note that the app doesn't really have the best translation so some things might be in spanish too I think

I actually saw this one a cupple of days ago. It's really cool.

Its good but has some issues and can take its sweet time to load chats, I started working on an alternative called LiveChatter. I need to work more on it, but I hope it will turn out really good.

I've used VeTube for some time as my chat reader whenever I do streams, while it does have its fair share of issues, it's better than nothing.

I agree its better than nout, that's how I say nothing a lot of the time lol, but yeah its better than nothing, but I am hoping in due course LiveChatter will do better in certain areas, like how its quicker when fetching chat messages, VeTube takes something like 20 or 30 seconds, whereas LiveChatter only takes at most, 5 seconds, 10 at a push.

I, for my part, don't like the program, doesn't work very reliable and the translation is mid. If I need to read my own stream chat I just use Firebot, and for the rest, I watch streams too less. YouTube website is quite ok for reading chats so. No need for a blind extra application everywhere.

Nice. How is Firebot also working for you? And glad it is probably accessible for you.

I am trying to learn Python, but suck ass so got Gemini to help, the way I've been trying to learn it is to read through the code, and then if there's something I don't understand, I'll ask the AI, what does this and that mean in this code, or whatever. As for Firebot, I thought that only reads Twitch chat? Also I am trying to design LiveChatter in a way that its usable for sighted people, just like Firebot.

Yes, it does only read Twitch chat. Your own streams chat. But again, YouTubes chat is quite readable. Ajnd I barely watch streams so... If the program is good, fine why not. But this one is mid.

Yeah I've barely had any time to work on LiveChatter over the last few weeks due to shit getting in the way, but I'm hoping to get back into making it better.

OK, question, there's a button that says install a voice package, what is that? in the Vetube app?

I don't know, we literally already have sapi5 voices. I think it's suppost to be something where you could look for a folder where you have the tts voice in question and install it from there? IDK

Welcome to a tts topic? That's what I came back to when deciding to read this, apparently.

Uh? The thread has been about TTS from the start?
@5, I think what you want is nought.
All that I survey, I could easily destroy. From time to time, it is important to remind these small creatures of the true extent of my power.

obviously VeTube relies on TTS so it can read youtube chat's anyway. Not about a particular synth
