Honestly if I could, I'd use Kali linux for a wsl, although I'm using Ubuntu for a VPS server.
Why Kali? Because back in that time I was a lot interested to learn about different cyber security tools and those, stuff. And because Kali linux on WSL has something nice which allows you to run a vnc with GUI using kex, but because of the audio issues you can't use it for long time because after some time, you won't hear anything. I've tried that multiple times and I don't know if anyone has a solution for that.
Of course Kali linux is not for servers or those stuff, I just like to experiment with it on wsl.
