I want to buy an external ssd.

Hello. I want to buy a 2 tb external ssd. What do you recommend?
I would like to buy it for my laptop, which has USB c and USB a ports.

I have a 1 TB Samsung T7, as far as I know it is available with up to 4 TB capacity. Mine has a fingerprint sensor, but the software is inaccessible and therefore I'm only using it as a normal external drive.

Well, all I have was a 1 tb portable ssd. Its by sandisk, and I got it from amazon for about 70 dollars.

sandisk is owned by WD but same. I've got an hdd from wd themselves and its quite good

I recently got a Samsung t5 Evo for Christmas. Very heavy for the size, made of metal with a sillicone exterior. It has a USB C port on one end of the rectangle and a loop on the other. It's abou the length of a credit card but only about half the width, and quite a bit thicker. The storage inside runs on the SATA protocol as ready by Crystl Disk Info, and while copying files over, the hottest I saw the drive temperature sensor read was about 34 degrees Celsius in a 23 degree Celsious room, or 93 in a 73 degree room for those who use Fahrenheit.
TLDR the Samsung T5 Evo is good for a relatively high capacity SSD. It's well constructed, performr as it should and doesn't run too hot.

I use the Samsung T7, works well for me.

I use it too, I got it for Christmas.
