A forum can only thrive if at it's head there's a just and engaged moderation team in touch and actually committed to the community they moderate. Since this is a new forum, our mod team isn't yet complete thus, this is where you and this topic come in.
Please place your applications requesting to serve in moderating this community here and you will be considered. Applications will be open indefinitely.
In order to be considered as a potential moderator, you must be able to demonstrate or possess a history of maturity, both emotionally and socially, be of reasonable repute throughout the greater community, and be both able and willing to demonstrate an administrative competency befitting a member of group staff. Note, this doesn't necessarily mean those who have no prior experience of moderating will be penalized, of course, everyone starts somewhere and we're perfectly willing to give someone who seems competent a chance. Lastly, while we understand this community is a vibrantly international one, English proficiency in an administrative capacity is vital. We don't expect native levels of diction, but you should be able to be understood when laying down the law. Conversely, the English language is quite dynamic and riddled with absurdities that one can only understand after a great deal of experience, emersion and proficiency in the language. Being able to understand context, idioms among other things is important in your ability to moderate. In short, just be yourself, but be sensible about it.
We look forward to your applications

Greetings. I understand that this community is designed to serve as a replacement for the elten english community, which as we all know is currently in... Ah, rather a state of decay. But that being said, we must learn from previous mistakes. We must understand why that group failed, and how we can create a truly kind, helpful, and overall friendly community. But that doesn't mean we need to revisit past mistakes at infinitum. Where will that lead us? This is a new opportunity to make a group and community that well, can truly be called a community. When you hear elten, surely you think drama, surely you think infighting, poor moderation, and without speaking ill of anybody for any reason some communities have done their part to earn that monicor. But I'd like to fix that. We can do that together.

I don't think I should have to say that this thread is for applications only.

So, since our amazing group administrator answered my question in private, well answer would be to much but kindly encouraged me to send this mmessage consider this as my application.
I know people might have different viewpoints on my reputation/competence to handle this job, but as already mentioned before I'm a friend of shaping this new, loyal community and see a lot of growing potential I want to help and participate in.
I also appreciate your constructive feedback, so in case you have any dupts or, should I be promoted, feedback I'd love to improve myself and prove I've learned from the past. But this shouldn't come over as to much blah blah, so I'll keep it short and ssimple. It's Jaidon's decision who he promotes or not, I'm just saying, I'm available and here, and even if we find out that I might not be suitable for the position, at least it has been tryed and I believe it's all about communication.
So yeah, have a nice evening and I look forward to engaging here in whatever way that may be.

By no means is this a coincidinse, and has nothing to do with the fact that me and previous poster are friends, but I wondered whether I should try or not and I'd like to go for it, maybe being able to contribute to this group in a good way.
I have, honestly, grown up a lot the last let's say, 3 years? Rather than putting myself into useless situations I have observed, just like in elten English recently, which is a quite useful thing in order to moderate better in my opinion. I have also been leading a quite massive group on here in the past called the online games corner, which, I can tell worked quite well. I like a good exchange and working together in a position like this seems quite welcoming, since I'm willing to learn and enhance my experience. As for group structure, I'd say I do a quite good job in taking feedback and keeping things organized.
Whether it's me on the team as well or not, I hope to see this group possibly becoming the official english one and see it grow further!
Best regards and for a good exchange.

Hi there!
Unfortonately the situation in the current English community is tough. In these hard times I would like to outline my application as moderator of the reformed English community. Appologies for grammar or spelling issues in advance, and if you should have any questions do not hesitate to ask. It would be kind of you and apretiated by me if you could give me a chance by reading this text.

## General:
I'm Leon, more known as Rudolf and Garo. I'm a 13 year old german and turn 14 in 2 months - so you basically can count me as 14. I joined the online community in 2020 and therefore have experience with fights and conflicts and how these can be resolved properly, not only as an user but also as administrator in several What's App and Telegram groups throughout the last five years. I'm aware of how to deal with power and rights being given to me and have been a map evaluator in the building game Sketchbook, Your World.
What can be said to my personality is that I'm a tech and programming fan. I love listening to several audio book genres including science. Asking back and being thoughtful is a huge part of my personality, therefore I already watched you tube science movies and documentary videos when I was very young (I can't really estimate it, but it must be when I was 8 or 10).
I'm learning to speak proper English since the middle of 2023, and as of August 2024 I also have started learning French. I'm not the kind of person who intentionally socializes with people offline and frequently meets with others aside from school.

## Why should you choose me?
- Mosten I attempt to hold myself quite neutral, even more when I'm being given a staff position. I attempt to find solutions calmly and even though my age I see myself as good developed. I'm available nearly any time from Monday till Friday from either 2 or 6 PM up to 10 PM or longer.
- I have a large - and still growing - knowledge of technologies, coding, science and several other areas and can bring it in.
- Since I'm as young as I previously mentioned, I can bring fresh opinions from the current generation into the moderation team.

## Why should you not choose me?
- I'm 13. Bro, have you ever seen someone aged 13 being ok?
- I will not want to feel responsible for the voice (conference) area, since being in a conference is not something I really prefer.
- During the week I'm only available about 4 hours per day (German time is 6 to 10 PM).

## What will I do when being moderator?
Unless we get a wave of new users and drama there is no real conflict I will have to resolve. However, alone by putting a strong staff team together the strenght of this still growing community is being proofen. It is a sign of resistence.
Additionally as previously mentioned, especially in this founding phase it is important to gather as much opinion as possible from as different viewpoints as possible, and therefore there also could be design adjustions.

Thank you for reading.

@jonathan: Your application has been officially denied. You are well-known throughout the greater community for unstable behavior, including but not limited to emotional instability, blatant and impulsive trolling which you have been unable to kurb even in an administrative capacity, and a tendency to leave communities at the turn of a hat for some perceived transgression, only to return several weeks later. Unfortunately, such behavior disqualifies you from a moderator position. Thank you for your time. We really do appreciate the time and effort. Just because we deny you now doesn't mean that you're permenantly out of consideration however. If we notice a change on any of the previously mentioned reasons for why you were denied at this time we may potentially reach out.
@Marc, thanks for your application, but we've also decided to deny your application at this time. Realistically, you're pretty good as an applicant, however you've demonstrated a tendency to be rather confrontational. Being a good mod requires a certain level of, if I were to use a bit of a crude reference, testicular fortitude or aggression. However, I mean aggression in being able to execute the rules impartially without fearing for the consequences, and not being needlessly hostile. Unfortunately, over the weeks we've observed you being rather unnecessarily confrontational with others on here, even attacking people not involved in the active conversation. But like Jonathan, should the situation change, we're always open to reconsidering.
@Rudolph: For the sake of transparency, I admit that we as a team had genuinely considered your application. You show promise, however fleeting. However, your recent stunt has disqualified you. As with jonathan, you seem unable to control the urge to troll and follow the leader as it were in order to fit in, or cave to peer pressure. ON a final note, while we've said that your English skills don't need to be on par with Queen Victoria's, we expect a basic level of understandability, and at present you're not fully there yet.
Thank you all for your time. We do understand that this may be a bit disappointing, but we took so long because we were observing you all and were in deep deliberations.

Hello! We have been known to work together in the past, and I had left Elten at one point due to my disillusionment with it's management. As you know, I have some experience with administrating other communities, such as Sketchbook, other, now defunct games, unfortunately, and my own Discord communities. While the list may not be long, I do believe my performance there warrants some good faith. Whether or not you degeree is up to you, but I think I could offer a lot to this space given the chance. Thank you for your time and I hope you take my application into consideration.

Greetings,
I’ve been watching the slow decline of the original Elten English Community for quite a while now. Like many, I’ve seen how poor moderation, endless drama and infighting have drained the place of any real sense of community. Complaining about it doesn’t fix anything, so I’d rather try to help build something better.
Some people here may still remember me from older days — and I’ll be honest, back then I didn’t always show the qualities you’d want in a moderator. But a lot has changed since. For about a year now I’ve been successfully working as a moderator in the German Elten Community. Over time, the admin team and I built good communication and trust. I’m active there almost every day.
I also run an English-speaking (though currently not very busy) computer gaming group as its main admin, as well as a German telephone/tech group. Because of my job I use English a lot; I’m comfortable reading, writing and communicating in it.
I’m 21 and I believe I can bring steadiness, availability, and a practical sense of how to keep discussions alive but fair. I’ve learned that moderation isn’t about control for its own sake; it’s about keeping the environment healthy so people actually want to stay and talk.
If you’re looking for someone who’s present, able to speak up when needed, but also willing to listen and adapt — I’d be glad to help here and put what I’ve learned to use.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for considering me.

I have taken a desent amount of thought on posting here for a wile, however I didn't actualy think myself to be a grate canadate as a moderater, spisificly because in the context of a game I would have to act diferently then I would normaly as a moderator and I still think in that context that is true. However if this group ends up and only then do I formaly submit my self as an option for a moderator, I know there are very good arguements to be had about my lack of spelling and grammer but if I would be put as a mod I would fix that for the sake of understandability. If this goes through you will need a more expancive adminastration team not only for the perpus I have outlined in the other thred, but just for the fact that our kerent moderators are sir charly who has diferent activity ours then I have witch I can help fix, but also that the other mod that was actave has seemingly left the platform. So to some up I am willing to follow any given rule set for what ever position I am given however I would only take the position provided the plan with this becomeing the main elten group goes through. I have little time as an adminastrator other then my other forums witch have little traction so there is that to concitter but take this posable application and do with it what you will.
Have a grate day

I realise I know little compared to what all is true, I try to think, and the one thought I can no longer be swaid on is that god is very real. That being the case I will try to live in accordence to the way christ intends for us to act. Time to give up the weel.

Hey. I think this topic is from the reformed community. Is this still on going, so does it make sense to write applications here?

I used to moderate this community for a while. If you ever need my help, just let me know.
It's not an official application.
I just wanted to mention it in case you ever need to get in touch with the Polish community I’m here if you need me.

Ok, i have decided not to apply as it could interfere with my own projects and I could end up in a timing issue, which would be bad for everyone. How ever, i am still interested in helping sort threads from the english community to determine if something should be moved to this new group.

Hello.

My Name is Felix, alias karmien. I am 20 years old (will turn 21 this year) and i want to apply to be a moderator here. As you see, i have said before i won't do it. How ever i changed my mind, since the Timing issues i was Talking About resolved and this community and elten in General is doing better then i expected it to do.

I my self have been on elten since 2017. This means that i have seen the most part of Eltens development, actually I was the first international translator that elten had, and am also Pretty active in the elten english community. Outside elten I am administering a few Pretty active WhatsApp Groups that run Pretty well, also I have a german teamtalk Server that was Pretty successful without Drama when it ran.

I am not really sure what else to put here. So if you have any Questions, feel free to ask.

Greatings,

Felix.
