Hello. Besides reaper there are also some which accessible only with jaws: sonar (accessible with free jsonar or paid cake talking sonar scripts). This script is not updated, so I recomend to use samplitude, or if you are with nvda, then only reaper is the option.
Hey, let's move this topic up. At this moment I've started using reaper with Osara and am very satisfied with its features. Only I would like to know, how to create music with reaper. Not writing signs, but create samples, beats etc. is there any vst synths with switchable instruments that are accessible? Currently I don't have midi keyboard, so wanna try with computer keyboard to begin. Is there anyone who has experience and could tell me something?
I also wanted to start with reaper. VSTs wouldn't be a huge problem because it's the least difficult thing to find free VSTs, but it would be quite good to learn a bit of actual reaper things. The problem is that I don't have an external midi keyboard, only a virtual one which is my computer's keyboard, so I might not have that much success but does any of you think it would be possible to create music only with this virtual thing? Obviously it would take more tracks and more recording but if it's not possible I wouldn't mess around with it. I'm planning to buy a midi keyboard in october, but sadly it depends on how much my student thingie will be, and how much I'll get from the university itself, so yeah, it's still a decision in early stages.

Arctic moon, I think it's possible, but not comfortable. Try to play it and you will hear delay, to fix it I suggest you to use wasapi or asio drivers.
Yeah, I know about the delay, sadly. But if I switch to wasapi, I can't hear any sounds from the virtual thing.

What do you mean by what I use? Reaper with the wasapi driver, just like you told me.

this forum mainly talks about accessable DAW's for windows. For mac users, I would recomend garage band, and logic pro if you have the money for it. For more info, go to https://logic.band and get the free cource. happy beat makeing to all of you!
If you're looking for a good accessible DAW for windows that won't break the bank, I'd say reaper is a good bet. You'll need to install the osara and sws extentions, but that's still the best one I know of. A personal license for reaper can be purchased for around $60.00 USD.
yeah, but if you want to support the project, 60 bucks isn't a terrible price. Gets you access to reaper across platforms too. Only time you'll have to repurchase the license is during a major version upgrade (so from say 5.x to 6.x.)
