iOS 17 is just about 4 days away from the time of me righting this. I am excited for all of the new accessability features apple previewed. My question is this. In there post, they say the folowing about voiceover. For VoiceOver users, Siri voices sound natural and expressive even at high rates of speech. what do you think this means? In mac os monterey and some versions of mac os bigsur, the siri voices had a nural engine on them to make them sound more natural. This feature was removed in Mac OS Ventura. What I really hope they do is bring that to the iPhone. It made the siri voices sound really natural. If they don't do that, what do you think they are gonna do? please feel free to shair your comments and feedback, and I will be posting my thaughts on here once I get my hands on the beta. Ok, then? Idk cool you're so so so excited or something but don't we have you creating 2 topics about kinda the same thing now? Personally I never saw siri sounding more natural but I wouldn't use it. Vocalizer and siri voices already have enough lag with voiceover to let me not use them, rather eloquence or something relyable. But meh, every update makes things worse I feel like. Eloquence was literally my only excitement that came packaged with iOS 16. Nothing more. They just destroyed vocalizer.
I tried using american Siri voices and they super lagged, now I use the UK male Siri voice for reading and eloquence for using the phone in general as I have everything in english. Why? I find Romanian translations highly unnatural but it's for another topic. Siri lags a little but not as bad as with the american. With Romanian? I have no other option excluding espeak that if I don't let it slow it sounds like a strangled cat so I use the Romanian vocalizer voice Ioana.
I'm sure at this point I'll just wait until 17.1 or something, like I only update if my iPhone forses me to or does it automatically without me wanting, that happened once recently with, was it 16.4.1? I really stopped caring. And I only updated once the last half year myself bc rh voice required that version that was newer than the one I had, idk why I got it since it didn't have english but meh, curiocity drives one I guess. To conclude iOS updates get more boring year per year and are usually only disappointing and buggy. O so nice widgets! O so nice, new wall paper! Do I care? Uh, no.
tbh I don't think this update will change a lot of my iPhone use. I am more excited how this new airpods update should be, because I use mine dayly and if it is good then yea, nice!
Yep. You know what? Remember the exclusive ringtone that came to iPhone X? Well, it came just now to my iPhone SE 2 generation. My standard opening ringtone changed to that new one
Earlier today, I was using ios 17 RC 1, but when I turn off my phone until 1:00 PM eastern standard time, it automatically update me to stable Without knowing me because I no longer have the feedback app, am I on stable? using a iphone SE Also, it will be great with eloquence that you can create your own community dictionaries and send them to Apple so that everyone can use it.
