Would anybody be interested in this?

Hi all,
I am thinking of making a discord server for people to hang out and play games, I know this sounds very generic and it has been tried a lot of times. But I would like to build an active community with some gaming nights from time to time, maybe even some moovie nights too. Would you be interested in joining this server and hanging out with people on there, just how we did on tt back in like 2019? I personally really mis this and would like to see it return on a well organised platform such as discord. Let me know your thoughts.

why not? Such servers are always nice with good people, so meh. Probably there are more than enough of these in the entire world, so i don't think its generic. Just go ahead.

I want to know if my work would be valued if I would make such a place that's why I ask your opinion, but glad to hear you are interested.

I recommend just making the thing. You're not doing market research for a business risking huge summs of money on your idea here. Worst case senario is that your server doesn't get traction and you will have wasted a minimal amount of time.

Also i'm down with the idea. Teamtalk has needed to die for a long, long time and it's great that people are finally moving to a more secure and or mainstream platform. I'm going to miss the high end audio quality benefits that TT provided though.

Discord works because there are shortcut keys for it. Otherwize it's a pain for me as well to navigate the fucking HTML esk electron interface. But like the whole university and therefore my project group uses it so ...

You can, if the elements are labled and detectable by your screenreader. Usually the case, but I remember the beginnings of discord and how meh it was. It has gotten better though, and now at days almost everything works, so that's cool.

The Discord client was so piddly I gave up on it forever.

Nowadays the discord client looks just like a website. Everything is well labeled, and read by your preferred screen reader.

I don't mind joining the server, even though voice chatting is off the charts on my end due to reasons, basically the voice chat/voice call features on discord are bannd in the UAE, nevertheless I'd still join to talk about stuff and find matches with whoever, etc etc

Ok, I will make the server this weekend. I only need to make a good plan for moderation, since I am busy with a lot of IRL stuf at the moment which makes me be quite apsent in the blind community.
