Twitter

Those of you who are on Twitter, what do you think of the changes that Twitter is making? It doesn't bother me that they are taking away the Streaming API since Iwas using Twitter before tweets started streaming. I still see a lot of people on Twitter complaining about it. I also heard something will happen on September 10 but I think that is mainly for developers.

The changes coming in September are caps on activity for individual apps, so popular apps will have to go through a rigorous process of asking permission from Twitter to take off their restrictions. I think TWBlue has already requested such permission but only time will tell if it's granted or not.

I paid for Chicken Nugget and, because of this month's changes, that developer has bowed out of it, and may make his client free and open source.

We were also fine without cars, but that's a whole different story.

I'm using TWBlue, rather under protest, but yeah. Chicken Nugget, my favorite, is, unfortunately, no longer in development. That developer has a history of quitting on stuff, just sayin'.

same with the qube. They all quit because twitter made updates they couldn't contend with

But TWBlue's developer is still hanging in there, so the Twitter updates must not be that bad after all.

The main thing I don't like about TWBlue is, one, the first time I send a tweet, a reply or a DM, the edit box doesn't come into focus so I must alt tab to it, then alt tab again back around to it to get it to read the text I'm typing in. Two, it also does the quoted tweet wrongly. It isn't supposed to count against your character limit but it does.

There's lots of work to be done, and here's hoping Manuel sees it through.

That is correct. And another thing is, ou can't se all your followers at once.

You can, actually. You just have to keep fetching previous items, updating that particular buffer. Older bro Talmadge has over a thousand followers. I can't see me doing that, lol, or having that many friends or followers.

I remember that well, and I have VT Julia, by way of Tal, reading some silliness due to that, a made-up thing from one of the long long threads of his. What cool times, lol.

So it looks like all of us now depend on t w blue apart from our phones of course. But they have done a great job, which is not easy considering the obstacles twitter is putting before them. There was something caled tweem, or tweam but I don't know how accesible it is anymore.

Open Tween is okay. I don't like it but some do. My younger brother uses it. It doesn't handle direct messages when replying well, but that is an option. I don't know where to get sounds for it or anything like that.
