issue inputting text

Hi all,
I am having an issue inputting text. It happened to me while I was using the stable version as well as the RC. Right now I have to go to notepad just to write out what I am saying, and then paste. It is kind of inefficient. Could I get some pointers? Thanks.

Some people are really plagued with this problem and others aren't, very strange. I'm one of those whose never had that problem. I have a good friend who does have it. It must be a nightmare for the developer.

hmm, maybe you have something in logs? go to tools, logs, set on warning, and press tab a few times and copy this log here.

This problem happens to me also, but only while i'm using sapi. I suspect that Elten holts execution while waiting for tts to finish doing it's thing.

I have the same issue. I might try the log thing, and see if that helps.

Guys, don't use sapi5 with Elten on versions of windows newer than 7. Use NVDA instead, because that's most likely why this happens. I hope that there's going to be that new engine in 3.0 at some point, which will hopefully squash this. But Sapi 5.5 and RGSS certainly aren't friends.

It's the player Elten uses.

Now that's really weird indeed. I know that sapi5 is really sluggish on windows 8 and later, and I thought that's why, but no.

What tts are you using on NVDA?

I’m using a mod verssion of eloquence.

Does the same thing happen if you use Espeak?

mod eloquence? how mod.

It’s a modified verssion of eloquence. There is a guy called jeff rutkowskie, who has a selection of synthesizers. Amongst other things. I haven’t tried it with Espeak. Will try and see what it does.

I'm using IBM tts and it works no problem

Then I don’t know why it doesn’t work by me. I did try ESpeak, and stil get the same issue.

I am using the Codefactory Elaquence and do not have this problem. I have it set to use NVDA, but I never remember to unload JAWS and load it instead.
