Hey guys. Maybe those who are interested in that stuff found out that the first developer beta of iOS 16 was released a bit ago. 1 really nice highlight, probably for many of us is, that it comes for many new languages and voices in context of voiceover. It as well brings eloquence along. So, i want to install this update. In case some apps are not working, or there are any bugs, i know i should backup my phone. But i'm tired of iTunes really. Also i would need to install it on this comp again. I don't believe so but is there a quicker way of backing stuff up? Also, if anyone has used the beta yet, how stable do you think it is so far and how is it using eloquence with it.
i have it installed now anyway, but i was only talking about backup stuff. Well to update my topic a little, now i'd rather ask which is the easyest way to downgrade again. I experience some weired ishue's with unlocking where VO doesn't say anything at the beginning, so i need to either get a notification, plug it in/ outa the charger, or what ever else to make it trigger and work again.
That is clearly why Apple warns you not, I repeat NOT to install the beta on a device you rely on.

I figured out a way to fix the lock issue. There are a couple ways. I don't knwo about home buttons because my device doesn't have one. But the issue isn't that VoiceOver is crashing on the lock screen, the issue is that the side button doesn't pull up the lock screen. So what you need to do, if you have apple pay set up, just double click the side button. If you don't, just go to accessibility settings then to touch. Then turn tap to wake up. You can also just pull up siri and that will do it. And now some things about Eloquence. It is cool but they need to add more dictionaries because it says a lot of things wrong. Also if you want it somewhat fast you have to put the speech rate at 100%. That is all I have.
Off the spinner, to the skinner, it chops off layers, now I'm thinner.
yeah i have it at 70. The screen ishue has been fixed now, so you have to turn the screen courtain off, someone told me. Well it is everyones choice wether to install it or not. That is why i have that damn backup now. Anyway installing or not is not really relevant anyway, rather what you guys think about it or how these errors can be fixed. But yes am not really sure if the dictionary's will come, though i strongly hope so because without it, well, it would really be weired for an iOS voice. Also probably they could make the quality a little bit better, it is lower quality as the computer eloquence, or any other of it
I believe the lock screen problem is to do with this always on display crap that Apple are trying to push now with their forthcoming iPhones. You have to glance down at the screen (using your eyes) to wake the device up.

I just can't believe we're almost in iOS 16! I remember getting my first iPhone, an iPhone 5s, in 2013 and it running iOS 7. The first beta version of iOS that I tried out was iOS 9, and it didn't feel like a beta to me at all. Then iOS 10 came along, then 11, then 12... and here we are on 15 and moving into 16.

The question remains, however, as to whether Apple will improve this Eloquence implementation by adding/modifying dictionaries and such. Knowing Apple, however, they'll probably abandon it because they're Apple and they can do whatever the hell they damn well want!

Be glad it's available, for most of us it's just one more useless, unnecessary feature to fill the accessibility improvements' list.

I also heard on TT yesterday that all the MacOS voices will be coming to iOS 16, though I'm not sure how true this is; big claims require big evidence.
