I use Avast on one of my machines, it's the only truly accessible AV besides Windows Defender.

I won't touch avast with a ten foot pole, just saying. The last time I used avast, it thought a program I had to use for school was a virus and completely destroyed it.

My issue with Avast is that it broke a lot of things. It was installed with another thing, which is not a good sign. But the problem here is that when it was installed, it completely destroied my appdata. That meant that I had my normal nvda config in the login screen but just the standard configuration in my user. It just broke so many things I just reinstalled windows alltogether.

Don't even get me started on how hard avast is to remove from your system. The fact that it has a timer should tell you something right there. I had to get a person with site to remove the program.

Yes, avast is my favourite, as I can exclude what I want and disable it for certain time. ant with uninstallation, hmmm, I never had problem with that.

It's an absolute pain in the backside to fully shut down, though, which I guess is understandable, given that it's a security solution, after all.

While that timer I mentioned may not be in avast now, it was back in 2010 when I removed it and switched to a program that didn't think window-eyes was a worm.

By timer, do you mean the shutdown timer? If so, that's still there. I think you can only disable Avast for an hour or something.

At least it is snake oil, like every antivirus software. I highly recommend brain.exe, it comes pre-installed on every human device.

Sadly, brain.exe stopped working a long time ago, probably around the time common_sense.exe encountered an error and had to close.

When you say virus, do you actually mean malware? Because unless Avast is a self replicating program and I don't know about it, it sure isn't a virus.
