What can we do to encourage people to come onto the conferences?

Hello,
The title of the thread speaks for itself, really.
I do not see many people going on conferences at all from this community, and would like to genuinely find out why is that?
Can we do anything?
Do you think that some social or psychological contexts play an important role here?
Let's talk.

Hmm, as I've recognised before, the polish community is pretty active so conferences are full more often. I haven't seen many people joining to the english one recently, although I keep visiting that time to time. The problem is that most of us don't really know eachother, and many people don't even want to know others, they are here only to hang out with their own cyrcle of friends. I think it would encourage more people if they saw someone in the conference who's already joined, because who would join alone? :D

I would go in the english conference all the time but I would wait and I would be all alone in there. I wish there was a way for us to know when there is someone in that conference before we even think about hitting enter to join it. You know what I mean?

Even on polish channel we don't see people all the time. I think you have to organise any event to gather people. Now some people join the channel and after a minute they go out, ecause there is onoone.

Wait, when someone is on a channel, you know it will tell you the list of the user names on there?

It will, but we would have to look at the list constantly to be aware of the factif someone is there.

And yeah, agreed with Balteam. Of course the polish one is sometimes empty as well, but it's more common there if people gather together.

Just made me think, perhaps we could suggest a feature where you can track a channel or something of the sort, so when someone appears and you wanna join, you will have the option to do so.
Or at least, be notified about it.

Hmm, that's a really nice idea.

That's exactly what I was thinking of. I would want to be notified when a channel has someone there.

I think we should do like dj center said.
When you're stuck, just try harder.

Moderation!
Matthew2468, consider this as a caution. Please don't go offtopic, there are already several threads meant for introducing yourself.

Yes, it will be nice if more people join the English community channel more often.

I also noticed that there is one German channel that only has two participants, and is it up there for like two months now.

The last time I checked there were 2 German channels each with 2 participants who are always there every time I used to go and see what's up with the conferences.
Once I entered one of the channels and there was only silence. Apparently they deactivate their microphones and everyone does their things, leaving elten minimized, I think.

It will be better if the people on that German channel with two participants will get disconnected instead of leaving it run with muting their mikes, just saying.
