Hi everybody, so I was wondering if someone can help me with how you can use a phone as a microphone in stereo. I've been looking for ways, but I didn't see anything. Mainly the aux cable, which didn't work obviously because I don't have a microphone jack on my computer. So I was wondering if there is a way to make your microphone stereo in Reaper instead or something. So if you can help me with that kind of thing, I'd really appreciate it because I need it for something on Team Talk because we want to do a race in stereo. So that's what I need it for.

Say, do you think fire is wonderful? Agree with me or else you suffer!

I think you're gonna have to get um for the starters you need a decent mic and then you need but you won't be able to do it real time with reefer that's the thing you can get a stereo recording in reefer I'm pretty sure but I don't know exactly how because I have not used reefer I've used other things to generate stereo sound but not with your phone sorry that's a bit suck

hi uh you can use your phone as a microphone on your computer and in reaper um by using application called wo mic and you need to buy it because it is not free i mean if you if you don't have a premium version you are limited so but you can't use your microphone in stereo mode unfortunately so the only way is to i don't know to put some effect like a fake stereo or something

So, meh. I tried War Mike and I didn't find it kind of interesting because it lags. So basically I tried War Mike but it was kind of meh. I didn't need the stereo mic for that, for those times. But now I have everything figured out so I know what I should use to get stereo sound. And yeah, I appreciate your reply.

it doesn't like here you may want to verify your Wi-Fi quality I mean I'm not using it actively but I used it on my old machine in different Wi-Fi networks like multiple Wi-Fi networks and I never had lagging problems like I mean it wasn't the best quality but that machine is a broken microphone so it was better than nothing

Well, I tried using it with USB, but I thought USB would get higher quality. But anyway, it still like for me like it did like, like it did like, um, it went again like, like the robotic thing. But I'm still using. Sorry, I'm still using my mono microphone on this computer and the stereo microphone on the other. So there's no problem in my thing anymore. I just I just wanted to see what other people can help me with and stuff.

It's a normal behavior of a mic if you're connecting your phone microphone to PC by Wi-Fi connection because Wi-Fi have a lot of drops if the router is not close to you or if you don't have a very good stable internet.

I can only recommend you to use DevoMic by USB connection.

Unable to record my own voice but would like to help. So look for something like HQ Recorder on the App Store if you have an iPhone. I won't be able to help with Android though.

Alright so this HQ recorder does have premium features but I mean the app itself is free if you're okay with the free features and they're functional enough I mean you don't really need to pay for it if you just want a stereo I mean if all you need is a stereo recorder if it would suffice for you that you you use you can use your iPhone's microphone built-in stereo microphone for recording then the free app will just you know do it for you

And yes, I think you got me a bit wrong there. What I wanted to do is not use, not have the recorder for iPhone or Android. I wanted to have iPhone or Android as a microphone, which is stereo for the computer. And yes, because you know, I had this race. I mean, it's like a race with Tim Talk with some friends. And I had to have a stereo microphone because if I had a mono microphone, I mean this is half stereo. Like yeah, but you can hear me in the center for a moment. But yeah, what I want to do is not use this. wanted to do is use a microphone for the computer.

Hi, like I said, the only option to use your phone as a microphone is to install W-Mic. It is available on Android and iPhones and use it this way. That's the only option. Or you can download, there was before I used the app, an app called Megaphone. So if you have like external sound card, like USB sound card or something, then you can plug your iPhone to W-Mic and use it this way.

I mean there is a way to use the HQ Recorder Pro app on your computer and that will do it in stereo and the way how you can do it is there's a monitoring feature and there's this app in the Microsoft store for Windows 10, 20, 04 and later and also Windows 11 that you can use Bluetooth audio and it will connect your phone to your computer. And then it will use your phone's mic and you can just record like that through your computer and then you will be able to get the stereo mics on your phone too. So there's that option. It's not really like, it's not the best way to do it but you can do it like that and then you'll just have to make sure you turn your speech off whenever you want to use it on the computer so that the speech doesn't come in. I think that's a really good point to come through because when you connect a Bluetooth audio receiver, it's like your whole entire phone's audio is on the computer.

If you've got an Android phone, um, I have ran tests on this before. If you've got an Android phone, you can actually, um, generate stereo audio with it by connecting it to your computer via the, um, micro USB cable. I was very extremely bored when I ran that test, but, um, yeah. So, I think the way it works is you should get a notification on your PC with all the, like, access rights and all that, and you should accept them. And they should just, or the, um, microphone should just appear as a sound device, and it actually worked. I don't know if it'll do it for newer versions of Android or Windows. For that matter, but it definitely used to, and it was fun.
