Hi. I have discovered another thing that sometimes causes youtube-dl not to work as expected in elten. Elten always tries to update youtube-dl if a problem occurs while downloading. How ever, there is another problem i've recently discovered.
In your users folder there is a .cache directory which contains a youtube-dl directory. Searching on the web shows that frequently for some reason if you don't delete that cache dir, it happens that the youtube-dl only gets 403 errors when trying to download infos about a youtube video. So what you should also do if you can not download youtube videos and updating doesn't fix your problem, just remove the .cache directory. This directory is the same dir for every youtube-dl instanzes btw, so if other youtube-dl apps don't work it may be the same reason.
I'm currently having a problem with youtube. It updates but stil doesnt play any videos, especially music or lyric ones. I'll try and find that folder.
Yes, the same here. I also deleted the folder. It's a good tip. It's under users in Windows 10. I don't know about Windows 8 or 8.1; I don't know if there is a users folder there.
