I'm thinking of changing my e-mail address, so I'm wondering what works well online, so I can try it out first, before I cancel my old e-mail address.
I've tried Gmail but I found it confusing, at least in my opinion. I couldn't find how you delete a message for example or create a new one. Anyone know of any others? Thanks for reading.
Well, I must say that Gmail is relatively easy to use, even with NVDA, and that Google has done a good job to make it possible to use Gmail with screen readers. They even have a special section how to use Google Chrome and Gmail with screen readers. So I don't know why it is that it is so confusing for you. Of course, you have to set up an E-mail account. To delete E-mails: First of all, you have to check the E-mail which you want to delete. Otherwise you can't delete an E-mail. This is also the case with other E-mail programs. If you want to try something else, go for,
and click on the E-mail link. Of course, you have to set up an E-mail account. You might need some help from sighted persons. And to create a new message or E-mail, you have to press the compose button. This is actually the case with most E-mail programs. Hope this helps!
I'm already using thunderbird with my old e-mail address, I don't have a problem with that. I'm using gmail with firefox. I already have an account on there. I saw a checkbox and something that said star, but no delete button. In any case thanks for responding, I'll look at it again, perhaps I missed something.
Hi, I’m now at a point where I can receive e-mails but not send them. I first got a time out error and something about the out going server. I tried to fix that, now when I try and send I get relay access denied. I’m now thinking of setting up a GMail account so that it works with thunderbird. Is it easy to do, this might be a silly question to ask, because I haven’t done this before. Also Will I stil receive e-mails on my old e-mail address?
Could you download and install Google Chrome as a Web browser? It's so easy to download, install, and use. Once you got that done, it's so easy to use Gmail. If you still have problems, private message me or call me on Elten and we'll do it together!
Bomberman29 I haven’t the faintist idea what you’re talking about.
True I could download google chrone, but lets say I would prefer to use thunderbird instead, if it’s possible, smiles. Thanks anyway for your suggestion.
If it's possible? It's 2021! Name one email service that can't be added in an email client by simply entering a username/email address and password now-a-days. Well, besides GMX, since they'll make you complete an inaccessible captcha first lol
How do you reboot your computing machine? You put your feet through the computer screen!
Thunderbird absolutely rocks. You don't even need to select what type of email address it is, it'll just autodetect it when it queries the email server. And yes, thunderbird has gmail support built in, you just need to sign into your google account when asked and you'll be good to go.
SeedyTV, no need to be so psarcastic. I do know what year it is. I’m just not as technically minded, which is why I asked this question in the first place. So as an example I would enter in my new e-mail address, what would happen to my old one? Would I stil be able to receive e-mails on the old one, and the new one? I realise these questions I asked now, might seen obvious, but like I said I’m not that technically minded. Yes, I do know gmail works with all smart phones.
You'll be able to do email stuff in both accounts, going into the file menu, new submenu and existing account won't replace the email account you currently have.
