Yes, I can confirm that braille works better now. I had no dropout whatsoever.

#3 Edited

But messages get cancelled out still by the speech.

And also, line wrapping doesn't work properly, although that may be an NVDA or liblouis problem respectively. For example, when I'm on a forum post of a user, the user name is shown, and then MJ, both with dot 7 and 8 attached to it. Shouldn't this be a space, or a line change?

Still got the cutting off of messages while the NVDA Elten add on is runing. E.G. Hitting the F10 key when there's "Nothing New."

Othere than that for the program itself, all is smooth in the mean time.

Yes, that's what I mean by cancelled out speech.

Which actions did you do to produce it? I can't recall anything.

#9

Blimy, now I just got it!

#10

Whenever I am on the first item in the help menu, I get some beeps and the Elten agend error sound instead of the item's name. May it be because of the "ä" hotkey?

#11

@hozosch It's unicode related problem with the shortkey of this item. Liblouis cannot decode it, I do not know, why.
Next release will just ignore such errors, but as a result, the shortkey just does not show up on braille display.
The problem occurs only when using german translation.

FYI

Currently, if downloading any of the Elten Betas using the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser from

http://microsoftedgeinsider.com/

, you'll probably get a warning similar to the following, thanks to the Windows Defender SmartScreen:

elten236b12setup.exe was blocked
because it could harm your device.

To combat this, do the folowing:

1. Press F6/Shift-F6 til you're focused on the button with said warning displayed on it.
2. Tab till you reach a button with an "Options" menu attached to it, then tap the spacebar.
3. Press the letter K or Enter on the "keep" menu item.
4.Shift-Tab till you reach the "More Options" button, then hit space on it.
5. You can now do one of the following:

A. Tab to the "Keep Anyway" button if you wish to simply download the file.
B. Tab to the "Report this app as safe" if you would like to "hopefully" never see the warning dialog again.

6. If ya have done the later, tab/shift-tab to the "Audio" button and hit space on it so ya can listen to the captchya, then do the usual thing when it comes to these things.
7. Once you're done with the Captchya, either tap the "I think this is a safe website" or the "I am the owner or representative of this website and I want to report an incorrect warning about this website" radio button, and select language if applicable.
8. Finally, tab and hit space on the submit button.

I used chrome to download, and when I tried to run it, smart screen blocked it, but I just said "run anyway".
