That's exactly mean that it is not data leakage. As simple, as that. If something was stolen from me i would not let it be just like that because someone enjoy that think.
Well, it's easy to imagine that some private messages from your klango project might leak as well. And than, you can say something like 250 people downloaded them, so well, let them enjoy reading it, it's sad to turn it off. :P
Sorry but woh the hipocracy, again? Thanks for 200 users, so nice bla bla, making a full on website, dude cmon tell that to someone else.
-- (karmien): I said from the beginning that it was not mend to be public, on all platforms that this was advertised on. The mail from jonathan is cut out of context and even the part that he is showing only sais "the registration password was removed, tell your friends.". At least for my definition, tell your friends doesn't mean post it publically on masto and agnet and elten and so on. --
There is not more context about this in the E-Mail. It goes on talking about new features and such. I'd share it but it's pointless to and I don't wanna be an even worse leaker right. -- (Sir-Charlie): False. You didn't mention that it was leaked until post 51 in this thread, and I don't think you've mentioned it at all on the audiogames.net thread. Interesting that post 50 is..Pajper's post. I'd like to see the full context of the E-Mail, but I can't see how "Tell your friends" can be interpreted as anything other than to..Tell your friends and share the good news. If you had ment people who were a part of the beta, then you would have said so, no? --
That's like GTA 6 leaking because Rockstar got hacked and thinks, ah you know what. Now that everyone has seen the game, let's just open it up. It makes no sense. That's literally all. Also, in his defense, there are terms of service linked on the page, which I won't link here as the original link has been removed, but they have a section about privacy. How trustworthy it is is a different matter, just saying. -- (karmien): As said before, and now one last time, I don't feel particularely good about shuuting down a product that when i realized it was publisiced already had about 30 users who were displaying their liking for it. Now it are 250. But I won't waste my time with these bad faith points no longer. --
I'm reading things that don't make me feel safe on the platform, even though I was just trying to use it and failed in the attempt, likely due to an issue with my operating system's language based on what I read from some friends. I won't cite laws or anything similar, but I request the deletion of my account, username "bragster", and my email address. If the situation clears up and things legally work the way they should, I'll think about coming back, but the more I read, the murkier the situation becomes. In my first message, I expressed that lawsuits within the community are unviable, and I stand by that, but if things are as they appear, I prefer not to participate, even as a registered user, in a big and complicated problem like the one that could be coming in the future. I have nothing against @karmien, but I do want my data removed in the correct and appropriate manner. Thanks!
I have no problem participating but this does need clearing up, and the users are safe on the platform, if anything was to happen it would be the developer, not the users, that would be impacted by any lawsuit or anything that the original company may or may not decide to do.
Regarding the legal side, yes, action would only be taken against the developer, but this isn't about legal matters. It's about what I, as a user, am looking for, feel, and think. Always with all due respect, of course
I know that if we read my two messages, they might sound somewhat contradictory in a way. I mentioned that if things worked correctly within the legal sphere, I could create my account again. Right now, my issue isn't about being sued just for breathing and registering on the platform. I simply do not want my data to be in a database that, in any scenario no matter how remote it seems, could be analyzed for judicial measures. I wouldn't like something like that to happen, because we all know the creator didn't do it with bad intentions, and as I said, and repeat for a third time, a lawsuit in this community isn't profitable, but not all of us think the same way.
