Post 38 says: > Could this adventure be better? Should someone take care of the creation of a new generation Klango? We are closing this chapter, but some of you are definitely thinking about something better. Be creative, make it happen.
Does this imply that they permit you to reverse engineer the Lua client and build your own server on top of it, plus use Klango as the name for it? I doubt it.
You really can't complain about being hit unexpectedly with Klango getting so popular. You used your private email to send an email to all registered accounts, telling them to invite friends. You deliberately removed the registration password. You could have waited, cleared things up, closed server access afterwards, or just announced the public release. You did neither of these things and quite honestly it's not quite professional, especially given you still stand by thee claims even though they were disasembled and argued against in countless posts. Also, funny enough, you complained about your email getting leaked when it was the email you used for sending emails to every registered Klango user. There's not much more to put to it. Would anyone with an idea of what they are doing basically sign a release while everything is unstable and they admit so themself, explicitly saying it was not meant for the public? I doubt this as well.
Then, this should mean that everyone is at fault who uses unofficial versions of Eloquence for NVDA, meaning anything but the version published by code factory for sapi5, which is just another example, or more generally speaking, any other unofficial version of something. If this is so alarmingly unethical, why weren't legal actions taken then? I'm not trying to justify it that way, I'm just saying that enforcing laws should be done much more consequently, which never happened.
Out of all, sorry but fuck code factory. Idk why exactly they are charging for eloquence anyways. Also, on apple devices you ain't needing that either. 1. Eloquence in no way saves any data or have people making nvda addons who could take it. 2. Klango is discontinued and was in no way ment to be made to run again under someone new with AI. Idk bro but I don't think this works.
You are wrong about NVDA-addons, have a look at fastfinge/eloquence-64 on gitHub for example. Look, I'm not even better, I made a fork and made my own modifications. But, from what I understand after reading this thread, all of those should be illegal as well, and therefore would require immediate action against those who implemented them.
Your claim is illogical on many levels. Nobody ever said it was not questionable. Nobody ever said it was right. Also, none of the addons contain any stolen code as 205 said. They do not even distribute the ECI.dll required to get this running, getting this is within your own responsibility. And let's be real here, who cares about the feelings of a company that gates something that is 25 years old and used by probably tens of thousands of blind people behind paid access intentionally, not even bothering to maintain the quality on an acceptable quality? I really don't care. -- (hozosch): Then, this should mean that everyone is at fault who uses unofficial versions of Eloquence for NVDA, meaning anything but the version published by code factory for sapi5, which is just another example, or more generally speaking, any other unofficial version of something. Well, ok, then you're at least being consistent. I'm willing to bet though that there are people who use other illegal things while at the same time complaining about the Klango clone. And honestly, Rudolf, I don't understand your point. First, there is the thing pointed out in post206. Furthermore, simplito have also done many things to have just as bad of a reputation as code factory, by letting Klango degrade very badly since 2012. Also, the repository I mentioned does include the speech data for the asian languages, and it fetches the rest from another repository, namely pumper42nickel/eloquence_threshold. I'm doubting that is lawful.
You're obviously not reading my posts thoroughly enough. I am not trying to justify anything. I'm just asking myself, where is the consistency gone. Where are the impeachments against people using illegal copies of a certain software? Why am I not seeing stricter enforcements of such laws?
isn't this the same thing as how so many people had a pacmate back in the day because people didn't wanna waste there time and money paying for mobilespeak?
Lol bro. Who the fuck is going to care about some blindie software? Non of the companys actually has the money to pull any big things off or cares enough to do so.
hozosch, yo don't have to waste anymore time fighting with this person. It's obwiously a double standart at least on his part but knowing him he will never ever admit to it.
Someone get the snacks and drinks, this is funny to watch, oh and don't let the movie eat you for dinner lol. OK i'm done, but seriously why are we even continuing this argument? For those that are wondering about the movie eating you for dinner joke, I got that from a video I watched a few months ago.
I always wonder when reading these posts if there will ever come a day when the people who make them take a stand on a serious matter and then express annoyance at those who would treat it like a spectacle.

If you want to support the companies behind, say, those companies like Disney and such, buy their shows, and movies. This goes with paid blindy software. I guess that's what people are getting at.
