Eloquence is not bad on iOS 27, if anything it's much faster. I remember the times on 26 where you'd have to wait for it to say button for at least 0.5 seconds. I don't use Eloquence as primary but it's on my voice rotor.

O so it finally has less pauses over all?
It'd be interesting to see if the same applies for other external synths like espeak or if this is adjustable. I think there are quite some people who'd use it if it wouldn't make so many Pauses.

Beta 2is here, the bug where voiceover wouldn't say the wi-fi in the status bar is fixed, it now says the netwark name as it should.

There are barely any dots to calibrate as it is, it only recognizes dots 1 through 3. Some people report it's only 4 5 6 that are working for them.

yep I can confirm only dots 1 through 3 work for me.

I have trouble using BSI so I just use my braille display but that's been having a bit of lag over on my side.

so I'm having an issue in the public beta the one that just came out today were eloquent is very crackly

#49

Same here for me. Could anyone please confirm that the old siri voices like Aaron, Arthur, Martha etc are now available on this beta for use with VoiceOver?

they are indeed available, but don't know why anyone would want to use them. They sound really bad.

I don't have iOS27 on my phone yet but I do know of a bug which causes voiceover to have strange pauses that make it sound kinda like macOS

I'm having trouble when I dictate something by double tapping with 2 fingers and do it again to stop dictation activates again.

Wow they are? Martin as for german as well? If we're actually talking about the compact versions, I used to like those somehow. Martin compact and Aaron compact and I'm good.
They were even available on Mac long after iOS had them wiped out but some day some time they got removed, not sure when. It was unfortunate when I checked after buying my Mac, but I saw it coming. Strange that they're adding them back now. Apple gotta be funny.-- (Jokyboy129):

yes, that is another bug. Also, you cannot turn off auto punctuation on dictation for some reason.

#57

does anyone else have this strange issue, which most likely stems from the magic tap being slightly broken? Let me try to give you an example. Try playing something and then locking your screen, in about 2 or 3 seconds you should here either a slight crackling sound, or, if you have another app open, say spotify and you're currently in Youtube for instance, you might here half a second of whatever song you were playing on Spotify. This bug is present since beta 1 and it is annoying as fuck. It only happens when VO is on, so that's why I consider it to be a magic tap issue.

that's just eloquence, it's very crackly because they keep messing with it for no reason. I just switched to a different voice for now.
