Your Obsession With Spelling and Grammar is Bizzare, Strange, and Kinda Weird

I'll say, as someone who dedicates a fair amount of time an effort to my own writing, grammar, spelling and the like objectively do matter. That said, there's no reason to nitpick, much less police, anyone over their writing in the context of this forrum or any other. Especially not if the errors in the offending writing are relatively minor and the message succeeds at conveying it's point in spite of them. Causing a scene in that instance just comes across as pretentious and condescending irrespective of your intentions.
Listen. If I, as a non-native speaker, am able to spell correctly, then you all are. I'm not doing anything unnatural or anything that you wouldn't be able to repeat after me.

But still, its not a massive issue if someone slightly misspells something in a forum like this, its not the end of the world.
Just to be clear, the point I'm trying to make is yes it is important and yes, i would pay attention to it if I was you.
Nobody is a bad person for spelling something wrong, but it's probably more of an issue than some of you guys want to admit.
Elten is one thing, real life is another and please keep that in mind for your own good.

I wonder if you have any other arguments than career and employment left at this point. You program in a niche language? Your employer will laugh at you. You spell a few words wrong? Your employer will. Ah shit, our company’s IT regularly writes emails without proper German sentences or grammar, and now what? They still get their point across. But yeah, let’s laugh at the valuable employee because they have better things to do, such as working, rather than overthinking their spelling in messages.
BTW, you know there’s stuff like spell checkers, right? These people can use them.
-- (ArcticMoon):
It doesn't matter if you care or not. Your employer cares, so do sighted people who see your spelling with their eyes. It's not an excuse if you use Eloquence. If I spell better than you as a non-native, it's a shame. Sorry.

Also, sighted people? Oh right, these who flood you with bullshit emojis, basically no longer write themself, don't know what the comma on their keyboard is, replace the capital I with an l because, lazyness? Yeah, they will totally care.

Ye, I wonder if she actually knows what she's talking about? Have never heard her talking after pointing out that her "employer" argument is nonsense in various contexts.
-- (marchoffmann):
Lol. It's called pointing at other mistakes to berry your own.
Common tactic. Probably there's something, like a flaw she can't cope with so she focuses on others flaws instead.
Just a guessing, though. Given her obsession with this.

Honestly the best argument in favor of their position is that you should take spelling and grammar into consideration for the sake of your own self improvement.
Which, nobody could answer on why they'd care. Obviously the same people will cry about how broken elten is and how there are better things out there and this place can't be taken seriously.
The dismissive argument that sighted people don't care how we write is outright dumb and the claim frequent use of emotions being corelated with higher tolerance for shitty writing is even more dumb. Not saying you're dumb btw, just what you're saying if you start calling me out for personal attacks.

Sighted people, outside of a professional context, generally do not care about the quality of their own writing. Much less anyone else's.

You know what? It'll be very sudden from me but. Write as you want. Spell as you'd like. You are going to see the consequences yourself. We are not here to teach you. We aren't tutors, we aren't your personal teachers. You'll eventually learn by yourself, probably the hard way.
I, personally, judge people on the internet by their spelling. If I look at your message and see that your spelling is horrible, you are probably not intelligent and I'm not going to talk to you. For example here in Hungary, usually very bad students and gypsies have such a spelling, and it's not racism, it's, unfortunately, statistics. And it's not their problem. They just don't have the necessary background to study well so they usually drop out.

Nobody cares about your opinion lol. These people are clearly living their best lives withoutyour correction so why will it matter now? They will eventually learn on their own, and I assure you, it would have been without your direction.
@Fernando I have noticed problems with punctuation among sighted folks, especially when sending messages to friends, but not really common spelling mistakes tbh. Not saying they don't occur, but they're not so common from my experience.
Let me clarify something. It's not a problem if you swap letters. It's not a problem if you accidentally double some letters, it's absolutely normal. We all do mistakes, also keyboards have a tendency to break. So the main problem is not these usual typing mistakes about which Djsenter is talking about in case of sighted folks. Yes, they have mistakes as well. But they don't write scene instead of seen, leenk instead of link, elliquence instead of eloquence, shure instead of sure, temproture instead of temperature, phink instead of think, and I could continue on and on, it's an endless list. You sometimes invent new words, or type existing but totally different ones instead of the word you wanted to use. You don't proof-read your messages at all, although there are a lot of spellcheckers nowadays which can be used accessibly. And this is exactly what bothers most of us.

Y'all clearly don't spend enough time on the mainstream internet lol. I know you're going to throw that back at me, but the point ofme saying that is people have significantly lower tolerance for spelling on the internet as opposed to the real world, where people will put more stock into it.
This is blindie internet, so like sighted internet, people will put less effort into their spelling.
Fact is most English speakers are very bad at spelling because our spelling conventions are non-existant. I know people who are into their 40s with master's degrees and multiple certification and degrees who still struggle with spelling. Of course, when they write academically or formally, their messages are well-written and flawless as it relates to spelling because they use spell checkers. But when it comes to sending a quick text on whatsapp or facebook, then you'll bet your bottom dollar the spelling is awful.
This programme is not that deep. It's ridiculous and pretencious to expect someone to run a spell checker just to look at a post on his forum.
I've started doing it now when I write moderation messages because duh, but otherwise, why go through all that srain?

Also @Moderation I just noticed that one of the words( bizarr) is also not spelled correctly, but you are not being judged for it.
I might get bashed very badly for this, but there are dictation software not only on phones now but on computers as well. If you don't want to use spell checkers, use those to your advantage.

I'm spending most of my time on mainstream internet. To be honest I have like 3 blind friends I talk to every day, all the rest are sighted.
