Hello there. Recently I started to learn more about linux and servers, while I was searching I discovered Contabo and from what I can see their prices are to good to be true, so my question is it' is a good idea using Contabo?

No, they oversell like no other and servers are more than unstable. I made the experience, several others did, but that's all I will say, Reddit or the internet in general can tell you more than enough about that.
Do yourself a favour and use Hetzner, Netcup, anything like that.

No, it's not good at all. If you want a VPS, use Upcloud. And please, if you can, use this referral :)

Aww, I also have an UpCloud referal, but yeah you go snag the 50€ credit XD. Still have 30€ on there but nothing running atm, as I said Hetzner currently does the job for me, for a better price. Feel like half germany uses them and they're quite solid.
But yes I totally support and like UpCloud, enjoy their appearance and social management. They gave me a lot of free credits and their interface is one of the best I've seen.

I've been using Hetzner and have had no problems apart from the first few days when I was trying to set some stuff up and discovered that an IPV4 address was not assigned, thankfully I got help with fixing that.
I feel like this question comes up a surprising amount.

also, one thing that I would like to make you guys aware with netcup, as someone who currently use them myself for several months and like them is that if you would like to cancel your server you can't just cancel it right away. this is the contract base system so you have to cancel it 31 days before the next renewal date

tbh it's really expensive, as in, you don't get below 50 bucks for something you pay 5 for at Netcup.
To be clear, everyone to their own, and it's fine. They have quality and that's fine, but Netcup just has 10x better pricing.
I honestly decided to switch to Hetzner myself. I like their social media presence because their support is quite active on reddit, and their control panel is better too.
or not, lol. no money to pay invoice so I'm staying on netcup. pluss I'm also kida lazy

So super awesome that I have to pay setup fees, didn't do that with Hetzner or UpCloud and don't see any reason to. It's literally just some random script and nothing that would justify that price.
I don't like their control panel tbh.

yes, I will agree with you that paying setup fee is quite stupid. It's literally just a VM in the cloud and there's no human involved in setting it up
