Wow wow no way hold up, you didn't actually just use a loop there? That's a crime. Report it right away.
#242 rudolf
A loop for the melody? Please learn how to compose music. You should decide if you're DJing or producing, oh my god!
#243 djsenter
It's called a sample, not a loop XD.
Get your knowledge right, boys.
#244 starchild
@240 Ugh, the memories. My dad had this phone and he would sleep like the dead. So as a kid I'd be verry violently woken up to that going off right next to my head every morning without fail.
#245 Adasadula
I have one question for you. How do you arrange so fast hihats in the reaper, and do you do it manually or with some automatic generator/pattern?
-- (roma):
I just made beat from alarm clock lol. I found it on the nokia phone

#246 Sir-Charlie
@243 what about the drums though?
#247 djsenter
Hmm drums? I mean the sample was an alarm clock, the drums were probably some patches from an instrument library, haven't ever seen anyone get mad at the drums used. Plus, even if a drum loop was used, it still requires creativity from a producer to put something coherent and creative on top of that, so not sure if I'd compare a full-on melody loop and a drum one, when it comes to originality.
#248 Sir-Charlie
Yeah I think the point they were making was that Roma had previously complained about Rudolf supposedly using loops to make his music, when he did the same thing here.
I don't care about using loops, just so long as they're done in an interesting and creative way as is the case here and in the case of Rudolf's stuff. Music is an art, and just like art the beauty is left up to the individual. So of course you can think something is not for you but bashing in the way I've seen in this thread isn't helpful or productive for anyone, and really the argument can be taken to idiotic extremes as shown here.
#249 ArcticMoon
The problem is that if you produce music, you should hear what you are doing. Rudolf clearly has no idea what he's doing, he doesn't hear that his music is off-key, he's just putting loops after each other and is extremely glad when it's ready.
I was there as well, I remember when I loved messing around with launchpad on iOS and sent my half-baked songs (if they can even be called songs) to all of my friends and I was sooo damn proud. And then after like 10 years I had a good laugh listening to all that shit back.

Well I keep repeating myself, why aren't we hearing major bangers from you if you seem to have a much superior stance than us? Apart of that, I'm going ahead and sharing a thing I worked on recently. It doesn't sound finished and I'm not sure when I will feel like working on it again, but I like where this is going. The melody was written by a friend of mine.
#251 djsenter
I can't agree with you Rudolf, because someone can have their ears trained musically, or in terms of audio design and still be bad at it, so they're not taking it up seriously. For example I know what needs to be corrected, added done differently in a mix of my vocals, but I still send it to a sound engineer friend and let him do that, because he'll do it faster and better than me. Or another, non-musical example. You know that food in an expensive restaurant tastes bad, although you probably couldn't make that kind of food better yourself at home.
She doesn't have to be a top producer in Europe to hear that something might be not ok with your creations, which is also not a reason for you to give up, keep practicing and doing your thing, but when you post something publicly, you have to take into account that people won't always have only congratulations for you.
#252 roma
Loool. It wasn't loop. And yes, I don't mind loops, but loops must be creatively chopped and processed. Sound design, bro!

@249, have you considered that the point of his stuff is to be off key? I've heard professional grade songs where the whole point of the song is to be messed up and out of key.
#255 Jonathan
Well nice for you. People can improve. Why not help him with that rather than just shitting on him, like you shit on basically everything you see these days on this platform.

How you made such fast hihats? By slowing down the tempo of the song and playing on a midi, pattern or some sequencer keyboard?

the fast hihats, I tried that once on garageband with an 808 kit and the quantise has to be 32 notes instead of 16 for that.
#258 ArcticMoon
I like singing more than producing. As for vocal stuff, sure thing, I just need some time to produce something that doesn't feel half-baked and odd. You know, music isn't a race. A good producer or singer isn't the person who can make more songs in a given timeframe. Art needs time and effort. I can't produce at any given time. I need inspiration, motivation and I must be in the right mood for it. I can't just open reaper, smash a few keys and done.

At first, give examples. And songs with out any mixing, just combined loops, it's not "grade songs" lol.

Using a midi editor. You just set the grid at 1/3, by pressing 3, or ctrl+ shift+num6 or 4 and pased a note.
