I'm starting goalball regularly at a club soon. Seems fun.
In my opinion, the longer you train showdown, the more interesting it is, but the advantage of showdown is that's simple for beginners. If you want to become a pro player, you have to learn a lot of. but if you want to play just for fun, it's quite easy, your opponent has to be at your level and that's all. I remember when I played showdown during my first month, my skills were at a beginner level, but I had a lot of fun.
For Goalball, I like to play best on the left but can play pretty much all three positions, to some extent. It just feels better when diving or blocking.
I also do three sides, but mainly I preferred the senter line. It was easy to get the ball.

I usually play on the right because I'm right handed, and it gives me more opportunities to throw cross court shots and so on, but I'm also surprisingly good in the middle. I'm small and agile enough to where I can play standing, so when I'm in the middle I usually stand and do a better job of positioning myself to stop the ball.
we play goalball at school during PE and I like it, not planning to join a real game though.

I do play all 3 sides of Goalball as well, but I mostly prefer the center line due to I can catch the ball easier.
You should try showdown. The off brand pingpong. Also swimming doesn't require much if any vision.
Swimming sounds fun. Never did showdown.

Swimming is cool, I did it when I was younger. However, you need to find someone to help you because I don't think it's easy to get to a pool alone
I mean you'll need some good coach too if you want to do well but I think if you have a local pool and you know yur way around after someone maybe shows you once or twice I think it will be okay.
