Hi, so initially I only wanted to make this a general sports topic but I believe this could be to much variation so if you want to talk about another, maybe more mainstream sport or some specificly feel free to create a new topic. As I already mentioned I started Goalball last Automn, and it's really cool. What sports, maybe also specially for the blind, have you tryed, or are you doing any of them at the moment?
I've tried goalball and probably going to try showdown at one point in the near future.

Love love love goalball. Wish there was a youth league here onthe island. Unfortunately I have to play with older folks, and I enjoy their company surely, but it's such an unfair matchup sometimes lol. I'm going to try blind Cricket next month. Tried cricket in school once. Was fun.

I honestly need to try goalball again. I've only tried them a few times and they were far apart.
Yeah man, love to hear that. How did you come to Goalball? In my training there are mostly younger people but also some people a bit older and yeah, that can get unfair sometimes, but rather for them

I haven't much to say about sports unfortunately because I haven't practiced any, except goalball which I was forced to play at the blind school. It is good as sport but I failed at it so badly. I was afraid of the sport time because almost every time I joined a team it lost because of me. But I would say that playing goalball is rather common among the blind community in my country. We even have our national goalball team which had participated in international goalball stuff. I only know little about this but yeah. Wishing the best of luck and success to all of you who play goalball or any kind of sports.

I've been swimming and playing goalball. Swimming is less interesting, but also great, when you like competing. Goalball is a great sport, but only when you have a good team and you know that all of you will do your best. Now I focused on showdown, it's the best game ever.
I also have tried blind tennis, but it's hard to start, I mean, you need a coach who will know how to teach you some basic moves.
Blind football isn't my cup of tea.

That is correct, you really need to have luck with your Goalball team, bad or uncool team, RIP.

Because of it, I prefer single sports, but of course on high level, team sports are fine.
I've plaied goalball and showdown and I like them both, however I am not in a team or anything of that kind or do that outside of school.

I've played Goalball and Blind Socker. I love Goalball, we take it serious at the school I go to. Got good players, and yeah. Blind Socker I don't do much with.

I play showdown pretty regularly, I've played goalball in the passed at an international level, same with blind football
Hey tell me about your experience with Goalball. Also what actually is showdown?
I think it's kinda like pingpong. I plaied it but don't know how to describe it properly.

Showdown is often compared to table tennis or air hockey. You wear gloves and use a bat to defend your goal pocket and score in your opponent’s.
The game is very fast, I love it :D

I adore goalbal, because love is just not enough of a word to describe my affinity for the sport :D
Have been to a couple tournaments, once got a bronze medal, once a gold medal, but honestly it's mostly because of the incredible team I was with.
I played a little as a kid in Poland, but only in England my goalball adventure has really started. At RNC in Hereford I even had a dedicated sports academy lesson once per week and would attend goalball practice for 1 or 2 hours on Wednesdays, so 3 hours per week usually, but even that was not enough.
The sport gives me such a dopamine rush, no matter what the outcome is, it really gets me going and I love learning new techniques, generally better at defending than scoring, because my accuracy needs working on lol.
Trying to get back into it, since after graduating from college going to Birmingham to practice on Saturday morning was just not worth it for me financially and time-wise, or at least that's what I thought before.
