So I have a raspberry pi. I have made sure it has a static ip address, along with fowarded port 80. I have a domane and read that I need to point the a dns record to the pi ip address. I can find the page whair I input the information, but dont no what to put in each box here is what they say
name:
value:
then a menu that says ttl
then a spin box with seckonds

I suggest to consult your provider's help documents, most ISP's have a kind of knowledge base with articles how to use their tools. In most cases the name represents the name of the DNS record, e.g. raspberry.domain.com or just raspberry, this depends on your domain configuration. The value is the IP address of your raspberry pi. Leave the TTL at default value if you are unsure what to select here. After submitting the record it may take up to 24 hours before the machine is available in the internet.

Do not host from your house! Do not host from your house! Do not host from your house! Once again, do not, host, from, your house! Sorry, but I cannot stress this point enough. If money is a problem, there are free web hosts out there. Infinity Free is a good example.

Linode is to expensive, hetzner doesnt seem to show a price at all, and I cant think of any other good providers. What do I do?

i use cpanel, its nice, it lets me manage mor then 1 website

If Linode is too expensive for you then infinityfree.com and freevar.com are your best bets. As far as I'm aware, Linode is the cheapest on the market at just 5USD a month.

It all depends on how much data you want to put on your website. Infinityfree only gives you 10GB of disk space, and you can only upload files up to 10MB in size.
