Elten shared files

I was Reading the changelog. back in 2.3 point three and above, they used to have the shared files program where you can attach any files to everyone. Such as a podcast, or a video, or anything. Since 2 point 3.4, they have removed it, so I was wondering, do you think that shared files can be possible to be revived in the future?

I wasn't around for that, so I can honestly say it wouldn't even matter to me if it was braught back.

Elten allready has all the file sharing it needs, which is audio files. Implementing the ability to share any file on here would be absolutely catastrophically irresponsible of them.

Before they know it, they could be hosting a gazillion malicious executables (ehem, bgt clones) which their hosting provider would be legally responcible for. And they definitely do not have the funds to find people that are qualified to moderate that shit.

Yes. but the surface of attack is less than the possibility that your whole machine could be overtaken.

You'd have to have an entire approval team to share just any file. Then you'd have to have a way for automated systems to flag things. Not seeing it.

The worst thing you can do if you choose to attack someone using an audio file is to play very loud sounds. On the other hand, the worst thing you can do if you choose to attack someone using software are things including, but not limited to: stealing someones identity, extorting money out of them, gain access to personal data, spy on them, and do a lot of other things that have the potential to ruin their life in so many ways.
The levels of responcibility are so different it's not even funny.

I registered back in June 27th of last year and I'm using 2.4.2.1. I was reading the change log file for older versions,on2.3.3 and above, they have shared files, and they have removed that on 2.3.4. And I'm not exactly sure what it is, because I wasn't around that time, I'm guessing is it a program where you can attach a file and let everyone to see it?

Sharing files was just an option in the menu so you could put something up for convenience. It had a lot of potential for misuse so the developer wisely chose to remove it. It wasn't a program.

And thanks for the answer, I thought the shared file thing was a program on the menu.

I'm just double asking to make sure what it is that's all, not an argument.
