Hi everybody, this is Urch. It's been a while since I've posted here on the voice forums. So, basically, I would like to get into recording my own music and stuff. Now, here's the thing where I get confused. You know, I haven't learned Reaper yet, and yeah, I should probably ask that if anyone would be willing to teach me a little bit, then yeah, they're welcome to PM me. My PMs are wide open. So, basically, my question is, what equipment do you guys use? That is, like, what I really want to know. So, in equipment, I mean, like, I don't know, what MIDI keyboards, mixers, you know, whatever. I mean, audio interfaces, you know, whatever. What software? I don't know, maybe something better than Reaper. I mean, I know that. A lot of people use GarageBand for, you know, Mac and stuff. Like, yeah, so this is a topic to discuss that, you know, I really was wanting to start, like, you know, just making, like, my beats or something. Like, not even beats, more just, you know, music. Probably, I would even sing to it. So, you know, that would definitely help if you guys told me what you use. Yeah, also microphones included if you have any good recommendations. Thank you.

if you mean hardware i use a complete control m32 midi keyboard which is pretty small but yeah it does the job i wanted to do of course i need more tracks to record because obviously i can't play everything at the same time as i would do on a bigger keyboard so i can't do that but the complete control keyboards have a very very very nice advantage and that's why i would recommend you to try it out and it's the fact that they can somewhat talk and it's like you have a shortcut like on the keyboard you have some buttons obviously with which you can do a lot of things honestly but there is a shortcut which turns accessibility on and the keyboard starts talking so you know what you're doing and of course the other advantage which is very cool especially if you want to create electronic music is the fact that complete control midi keyboards come with a lot of awful lot of vsts a lot of free vsts uh which you can use obviously for free after you download native access and complete control don't be afraid of the fact that complete control is not really accessible if you're blind and so i think it's not impossible to you know can have free control without a lot of resolved problems then uh but i i do have a a i'm gonna save the video for the day in which i will be talking about that but i'm talking about a little bit more about the view of the keyboard and also the way it's not impossible to use or to use the keyboard but i think it's a good thing would recommend it even if mine is pretty small I would I would recommend every kind of complete control thing like you can use the complete control program with a few auto hotkey scripts and yes these keyboards are a bit expensive but yeah especially the m32 was like 40,000 forints which should be something around it should be a hundred euros so yeah it's of course it's it's expensive but yeah especially the m32 was like 40,000 forints which should be expensive especially at these times but yeah I would recommend it

hi there uh thanks very much for the recommendation uh yes i was also considering the complete control series um i've heard that they had they have speech but i've never like i've never heard before that they also come with some vsts and that's even better um the the good thing is like even you know even if it's expensive if it can like provide a lot of value well that's you know that's that's everything that you can ask for um so yeah like for i don't know like i assume you also have an audio interface especially if you're like singing or stuff with you along with your music because well then you probably need a microphone or something i don't know um but yeah like i assume you use reaper i need to somehow like get some resources on how to like learn how to use reaper properly i haven't yet um i need to i need i really need to start with this uh but yeah thanks for that because i'm i actually really am considering that especially when i'm gonna have the proper knowledge on how to use a DAW so yeah like reaper for example thanks

Yo! So, as for hardware, I use a pretty simple controller. I don't have enough funds to buy the Conflict Controls series right now. So, I currently use a USB KeyStation 88S keyboard. Basically, as it says, it's a USB-powered 88-key mini-keyboard that has the basic controls like mod wheel, pitch bend, and octave increase and decrease buttons, the volume slider. There is also something... called Octave Function. I don't know what it does, but apparently it mutes my audio from the DAW, so I think it's like something different. So, for VSTs and other things, I use many popular synths. I use, like, from free ones, like Odin 2, Element of Surprise, although that's not very accessible if you're looking... ...for Nexon. VST. I use Surge XT, which is almost fully accessible on Reaper and, I hope, virtually any other DAW. But yeah, that's all I use for now, at least.

I project the electric and the aquatic arts.

I just tried to use GoldWave. It's completely down to edit all types, podcast, music or other things. But it's problem, it's what is for pay. It has free versions, but it's incompletely. But for recording music and edit music, I recommend LDCT. And in hardware, to record music. I have a Truce GXT microphone. It cost me 14 euros. And it's very good for podcasts and music, in my experience. So, I recommend this. In fact, if you have money, for example 100 euros. You can buy a specialized microphone in this case. For example, I don't know marks. I don't know at the moment names. But I have a friend, what he knows of music. And I'm going to quest him.

CB, I noticed your post, you have been posted the same. Your post has been appeared three times. And what I use to record music is pretty simple. I use my PSR-E463 to record, use the six track recording function for me to record my own songs as a MIDI file. And that's what I currently use. I use GarageBand too to make my own music. And I haven't learned how to use Reaper yet and Gold Wave yet, but I'm going to be in the process of learning to use this program. So, yep, I'm interested for it.

... ... ... ...

I use Logic Pro. Have been for the last 9 years. For all 6 of my albums. Very accessible, intuitive with plugins, and works great with 3rd party plugins.

O now I know who you are. That guy with the anoying sbyw logic pro add hahaha. But anyway, sorry for going offtopic.

About MIDI keyboards you can buy for example AKM320, I have it, it's a good keyboard and it has two octaves, but if you want something biggest you can look on native instruments keyboards, it has a lot of options, a lot of functionalities. And it's a full accessibility with the look in synthesizer, our controls is reading by some voice and in packet you can get some of basic instruments, so it's good for a start I think.

Oh my goodness, sorry for the mistake. It's complete control, I mean. And if you're searching for a good digital audio workstation, I can recommend you Pro Tools if you have Mac computer. And about microphones, I think that you're using now Ampluity. I based it on your sounding. But if I'm incorrect, correct me. It's not good microphone to record the vocals. I think it's not dedicated to this.

no you were totally right I have to tell because there are several other keyboards from native instruments for example machine whatever and other things so yes and there are a lot of things for example there are several versions of complete control mine is like 32 keys like a complete control M32 but there's the complete control A series the complete control S versions and of course the M so of course you you didn't do any mistakes because it's it's better if he looks for native instruments and not complete control but it's a good thing. Because then he may check the other keyboards. And yeah, I recommend it by whole heart because if you buy one, then it contains a lot of free VST instruments, mostly made for electronic music, but it's good for what you use it for. And there are a lot of NKS compatible VSTs. For example, the orchestra from Spitfire Studios, as well as there's something like the free orchestra, but I don't know from whom. I still have to check because I don't remember, but I have this VST as well. So there are a lot of NKS compatible VSTs. It better integrates in the keyboard and it's easier to do everything from the keyboard itself. So yeah, I wholeheartedly recommend the complete control series, whatever your preferences are. But I may have already posted in this thread. So I just came here to say that. No, no. You. You didn't do any mistakes because it's totally fine to look for only native instruments because they have several. They have a variety of keyboards you can choose from. So, yeah.

Hello there, this is Urh again, so like I'm pretty, I'm pretty lost right now when it comes to Reaper and stuff because I really don't know where to start, I don't know where to get VSDs or like, like, like, I don't know how to begin basically, like, and I, I'm pretty lost because I'm not really sure where to start. Where to go at this point. I installed Reaper, I installed Osara, I installed whatever. And well, I mean, I don't have any special equipment. So I think like the first thing that I want to do is somehow learn the program. I know the accessibility wiki is pretty good, but I actually want, I don't know, I want to hear it from someone that has some experience. I don't know.

Hello everybody. I definitely find all kind of this stuff very useful because although I said in my post about introductions that I that I love technology but not much, anyway I would really love to learn much more than than things that I already know so for example if anyone can tell me how you guys Urk and some other people mentioned Reaper so basically what's that how can you get it do you need to know some kind of coding or what actually what do you need to know to know how to use it if you know what I mean and also if you guys don't mind I have a question next to the first one yeah so I'm sorry now confused yeah in terms of speakers on the computer microphone whatever uh I'm currently using Realtek audio do you actually know because I heard that I can make the sound to be better or but I'm not talking about volume I heard that there's something in the control panel that I can change and that can make better so guys if any if any of you knows what that would be exactly um then feel free to let me know thank you

Hi, this is George, and how's it going? I use Reaper for doing my own morning shows at my school. And I haven't used Reaper to record MIDI files yet. Still gotta learn it. So, yup.
