Hi,
I have a question: how do I turn offwindows deffender in windows 10 pro?

Install another antivirus program and Microsoft Defender will be in the background. You can't turn it off.

That's right! Besides, it is a big risk when you are using a computer without an antivirus program. If you turn off Windows Defender, a message will come up which says, "Your computer may be at risk!"

Although this is risky and microsoft don't allow easilly to turn off windows defender (like turn off windows updates or enable dark theme), we have to know what we're doing, but I ensure, sometimes there are situations when it's times better to turn off defender completely and install another antivirus with easier control of its features and exceptions.

I have a third-party internet security sweet installed already. I have vipre internet security.

#7

just exclude you're c drive. that is what I did.
Trussville roll: Deep-fried, smoked salmon, crab salad, cream cheese, topped with mango sauce, sweet soy-reduction, green onion. MMMMM

how do I exclude my c drive in defender?

#9

If I were you I'd get an antivirus that is actually good, then disable the windows defender service in services.msc.

Which one, though is 1: good, and 2: accessible?

I have Vipre internet security.

#12

That's paid though, I believe.

I use malware bytes and it's easy to use once you learn that pressing space on everything works rather than enter.

#14

it is paid. I like it because it has a secure file eraser.

#15

Malwarebytes is good, though you don't get the real-time protection and stuff with the free version which is a zarker.

You do have to pay for viper, but its well worth the money. It has a lot more in terms of fatures, and is far easier to use than windows defender.

#17

vipre is not that good, trust me. use avast (totally accessible) or kaspersky security cloud.
When you're stuck, just try harder.

Avast? That's one of the crappiest one out there.

The last time I used avast, I found it to be less than screen reader friendly. It kept flagging window-eyes as a virus. Finally, I decided to get rid of the program, something easier said than done, as there was some kind of timer thing in there that if you didn't click on the button to remove it within that time limit, you had to start with the removal process all over again. I I had to get sighted help to get avast off of my system. And don't even get me started on the sounds that program made. The one time it did find an actual threat, the siren going off scared the day lights out of me!
